Those who vote for GS, please leave a line on why you think it is superior than Aquaterra, thanks Gents

Two different styles. But the one thing to consider is how it is going to fit into your collection, whether you are looking for a sports watch or something more classic. The GS is one of the most understated pieces but it is finished superbly and also is quite versatile considering its dressy looks. The Omega is more of a sports watch and also is quite big for an Aquaterra.

Just can't stand the Eurostile font used on the Omega... one of my biggest and most personal watch pet peeves. I also find the 0-60 indicators to be quite useless. If only both of these things were changed, it would be a close race for me, although then based on cost I'd still favour the GS.

The regular Seamaster 300 is one of my grails but I think the blue on white combo on the AQ GMT is a bit cluttered and aggressive. The GS is more aesthetically pleasing for me.

·

The Omega will retain value better as they age.

·

It’s all about the symmetry for me. The AT day/date (in black) is what I am currently on the hunt for but I’ve looked long and hard at this GMT in TI.

The Seamaster 300 (not pro) is a FANTASTIC daily driver and flies totally under the radar. You can get them well under retail if you are patient. I just put mine on an omega mesh bracelet and it’s a total GADA. The factory bracelet is nothing to look down on but for a summer adventure watch the mesh is awesome.

I am an Omega fan and Aquaterra GMT with blue needle is my choice, and Omega would retain value on a long run when compared to GS

Nice! I used to own a aqua Terra as well. But how did you assess the resale value for GS Vs Aquaterra

I was seeing the prices listed in Chrono24 and couple of other sites and saw Omega retaining value , not for all the models though!

For me the ivory dial and the indices of the GS are more esthetic looking than the aggressively pointy show of the AT.

Its not a matter of the GS being superior to the Omega, they are two different styles and the best choice is the one that suits the individual. I like the looks and style of the GS over the Aquaterra GMT, but there are probably plenty who like the Omega better

·

Different styles - Omega looks like a sports watch (and like a lot of other watches), GS has more of a classic/vintage vibe and is more distinctive/distinguished (to me) than the sports watch.

·

The GMT is my favorite GS. I'd pick a different Omega.

·

I'd pick the 300 SM over the GS; but in this particular shoot-out voted for the GS. The Omega's blue open triangle hour markers really clutter up the dial, whilst the GS i think is well designed and executed.
