Got THAT call from the AD

Well just a question, I am weak to the Omega AT and the shades collection finally arrived including the Saffron, but the other AD also called and a 124270 is also forthcoming later in the year and I have finally escaped the waitlist.

In the years since their release which aged better? Thanks for the helpful opinions on this.

Not sure if you're talking about specific references or the AT and Explorer more generally.

Either way the answer is the same: Explorer.

Black dials 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 age better - there's an element of fashion in colours.

Explorer

·

Yep. Explorer.

·

Love the salmon

·

Explorer week stand the test of time but I think salmon dials can be timeless too!

·

Explorer is boring. If you already own 4 black watches get the AT.

·

Not even close. Explorer and it will remain that way

·

Explorer.

An Omega at retail from the AD or boutique is really a ripoff when you start looking at how much you can get them grey

·

Don't like this explorer now, doubt i'd like it later. Omega all the way.. No doubt the Rolex will sell better down the track though..

·

Explorer in every aspect but is more expensive. Not a big fan of AT, especially with these new dials.

·

Explorer all the way for me. I’m lucky to own both and the Explorer is my clear favourite, the AT gets very little wrist time because of it .

·

I have to put in a shout for the Omega. It is, for me just a better looking design and I love the saffron color. I guess it depends on whether you are wanting a daily driver or if it would be more for special occasions. The saffron dial definitely has more character, and suggests a bit more individuality. So, Rolex if you want to blend in, Omega if you don't mind standing out a little bit.

·

Explorer, you won’t regret it 👌🏼

·

Whatever you like more. The saffron AT is really unique. I'd go for it first if you have more than 2 black dial watches. Then get the Explorer.

·

Explorer for sure, but there's plenty of room for both in the collection as they're very different

·

Explorer for me.

·

Explorer! I’m still thinking if I should get into the list.

·

Saffron. Get it.

·

I have an immense weakness for the Aqua Terra.. so will anyday talk in favour of AT.. it didn’t matter whether it makes commercial sense or not … cause watch is a thing which is a matter of the heart ..

Your Explorer pic is too pixelated to tell. Based on image quality, the Omega looks better. However, I have the 214270 and love that watch!

How is it being a 36mm, do you find it just the right size? In my case my wrist can accommodate watches from the 38-40mm range.

·

There are literally hundreds of thousands of Explorers in all sizes and models. You can get one whenever you want. They are not difficult to source. It’s manufactured scarcity being on the list. The Saffron has a far smaller pool to choose from. I’d opt for that.

I have the 39mm case. It fits wonderfully on my 6 1/2 inch wrist.
