Got THAT call from the AD (pt. 2)
First of all I want to thank you Crunchers for all the insight in my last post on whether to get the Omega AT Shades (Saffron) or the Rolex Explorer I ref. 124270!
So I decided on getting the 124270. It's such a great wear and you don't really feel that it's a 36mm watch. Not to mention that it's also my first of this brand.
The two year wait was worth it!
(If I do get an Omega AT shades, I would like the Terracotta instead, there's something really appealing to me about a red dial, so that might be a target soon)

Congrats. Now that you are a member of the club, you get to call it an Explorer and remind people that there is no such thing as an Explorer 1. LOL
My next watch will probably be a 36mm Explorer. I’m not a jewelry customer and I don’t buy any of the other brands of watches my AD sells, so I’m sure it won’t be new. I also really want drilled lugs, so I guess it will be a neo-vintage secondary market purchase just like my other Rolex watches. I really wish it wasn’t this way. 😕

I got mine as a first time buyer with my AD. I didn't really think about the waitlist for a long time, and I just happened to remind them last Christmas that I did sign up in 2022. Thankfully, I was on top of their mind when the piece came.
I guess it also helps that in my country the divers are the more "in demand" pieces from the ADs.
