One Watch Challenge's doomsday is near

The end is near. We are two days away from the start of the "One Watch Challenge" and we have a technical tie in our poll.

On one side we have the Casio "Royale" AE-1200WH-1B, a casual digital quartz and on the other side we have the Seiko SRPH85 a dressy mechanical analogue.

It's the first time I'm going to participate in a challenge of this type, but so far it seems to me that the hardest thing will be choosing which watch to wear for 31 days. Once you start, just persist.

I would pick the Seiko between the two. I couldn’t wear a digital watch for an extended amount of time.

Yes, I understand. I'm also not sure if a digital watch is the most versatile for more formal situations. Or, as my wife would say (she's not into this watch stuff): digital watches look like kids' watches. 😜😂

Seiko for sure. What would you do if the battery died during the challenge?

The @Aurelian rules don't forbid battery changes, only strap changes. 😂

So I would replace battery. But yes, I'm leaning towards the seiko side. 😉

My .02¢, whichever one you'll actually use more. Screw formality/convention. I'm treating this as as kind of Whole30 diet for watches.

It's why I picked what I'm gonna wear (EB Holton Pro), needed functionality, ruggedness, and something that could be used for timing workouts. Still haven't finalized my strap though. Regardless of strap, I will wear with all outfits to include two weddings.

Since even though it's not "etiquette" for enthusiasts or purists, my selection will still look better than the smart watches on everyone else's wrists lololol...😜

If you are traveling a lot, or need a timer go with the Casio. IF someone actually noticed outside of this forum and said something, tell 'em your in a self imposed contest for fun!

If you just need something to tell the time and be a tad more wardrobe versatile go with the Seiko.

There is only one watch for the apocalypse. Light powered and the accurate watch in the world outside atomic connection.

I’m gonna go with my Royale. I’m not gonna win though. I have to wear other watches to my Daughter’s grad on 6/23, and to the unveiling of my Dad’s gravestone on 6/25, so unless everyone else flames out early, I won’t take home the WC-branded Rolls Royce.

My GWM-5600 without a doubt is my dooms day watch. Pro TrekPRG270 is a close second.

I'm stocking up on snacks so I can enjoy the entertainment, I won't be doing it.
