My SPB237 ran like -15spd so removed the caseback and adjusted the movement a little bit (there is this tiny lever that you can do this with). Now it runs around +4spd face up and +7spd face down which Im more than happy with. It really does suck though that one has to do this after spending so much money on a timepiece.
If the watch is slim and light or vintage styled I like to have more taper. If the watch is (top) heavy, larger or very modern then just a slight taper is better for comfortability (imo).
