Your take on a dive watch on a leather strap? Why not?
Soo yeah this can of worms. 😉 Every so often I hear someone complaining about a dive watch on a leather strap. Seems to be a pet peeve of many but why exactly? I personally wear that kind of combo every now and then and when it is time to pair the watch with "more suitable" strap I just... change it. Simple as that.
Any thoughts?

All the time. The only thing i go through more than watches, are straps. I think leather looks better in most cases and good leather can get wet occasionally. maybe.
If it gets wet, wear it until it’s dry, then rub Aveeno oil into it.

I think you should just go for a strap that makes you happy! There's so much talk like: 'its a tool, you must wear a nato-, silicone-, or metal bracelet, otherwise whats the point - bla bla...'. Soldiers are wearing different uniforms too, not their combat gear at every occasion, right? If you are taking yours with you to the next beach holidays, you swap for utility - if you are at home - wear it casual. Its yours :)
It can be a can of worms or #heresy but yesterday I had my BB58 on a suede strap as it looks great and I wasn't planning on it being abused. Other times it's on silicone, rubber or NATO
There are a lot of divers I think look killer on a leather strap, the BB58 being one of them! If one is wearing a diver simply as a daily watch and not swimming with it, I don't see why not.
It’s absolutely fine to put leather on a diver. I swap mine out depending on the occasion.
I have never done it, but seen more of it lately, so I might have to give it a try. I imagine getting it wet would suck, so maybe just for desk diving.
Ah yes.. the purists/snobs. Some people just need a way to justify their existence by pushing useless standards on people over the internet imo!

We hear that comment at least once a week when we post a diver on a leather strap. How many people actually go swimming, let alone diving with their watches? 😄
