Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
It just kinda happened. I saw a Rolex Submariner somewhere and next thing I was browsing for automatic watches. Bought a Seiko SKX and "the rest is history". 😁
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Casio F-91W as far as I can remember... Used to rock that as a kid which was like a thousand years ago.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
I think so. The orange dial Pook Watches MBK (that is in my profile picture) was made for the Finnish microbrand enthusiasts FB group that I founded with my friend. 50 total pieces. I was heavily involved with the project and Im willing to take credit for the waffle pattern dial -idea on the watch. :)
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Ask around and devour all the knowledge you can but don't make purchase decisions for anyone else other than for yourself. If you like a watch then go for that instead of the "popular one". You'll thank me later. :D
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
As a dive/sports watch enthusiast Seiko, Sinn and Doxa have been my absolute faves for quite some time now. After those three I really dig Tudor, GS and Omega watches too. From the smaller brands I'd like to mention Halios and S.U.F (Sarpaneva Uhren Fabrik) which are always on my radar aswell.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
My grail watch changes almost each day but right now hmmm... I think I'd say that the full gold Doxa Sub 200 T.Graph would be pretty dang amazing thing to own, ha! :D
