Most versatile dress watch?

Usually, when taking about versatile watches, we are referencing a “sports watch” that can be dressed up or down for different situations.

The Reverso (despite its origin as a sports watch) is considered one of the quintessential “dress watches” by today’s standards. In my short time with the Reverso Duoface, however, I have found it to be right at home in a more casual setting as well.

It certainly fits the bill in a suit and tie, but I was surprised how well it works with a t shirt and jeans. With its limited water resistance, the reverso certainly won’t ever be considered a “sports watch”, but I must say, I have enjoyed wearing it lounging around the house and running daily errands just as much as I have in the most formal of settings.

What are some of your versatile “dress watches”?

I couldn’t agree more, love the Aqua Terra

Love the reverse. I would say my Gruen Airflight 24, would fit the bill.

Wore mine to go to the corner shop earlier - with a hoody..

Nice, that’s what I’m talking about!

Mine is the same as you have, I think. Looks like the medium small second. And I fully agree, with the Fagliano strap it can do all outfits.

Love it

My Nivada Grenchen Antarctic Spider is a good fit. It was designed for explorers to bash in the Antarctic Circle, but also has the looks and dimensions of a dress watch. This is my pick for something leaning more towards a tool watch aesthetic. A Seiko 5 is also very hard to beat, with my reference being slightly more dressy.

I have the Reverso. I wear it out sport/casual and change the strap for dress.

99% of the time I wear my Cartier with jeans and I love it. Just a hint of cool in my day to day.

I agree with you that the Reverso is a beautiful and versatile dress watch. I even went to the dealer over the Summer to look at picking up the Duoface you appear to be modeling (which my wife also loved) but clearly I missed the pricing memo because I had it in my head as being around $9,500 but was shocked to learn that the retail price shot up almost 40% to over $13,000 which meant I had to go home and think it over (still thinking about it but this post is helping).

Yes, the JLC price hike was crazy. I wish I would’ve pulled the trigger on this sooner, it would be a steal at the previous retail price. I almost settled for the Monoface after the price jump, but I’m so glad I waited a little longer and got the Duoface.

I second that. 🔥

Think the OBCPD is very versatile … wear it with most everything

As a fellow enjoyer of the JLC Reverso Duoface...I couldn't have said it better myself!

Put an ostrich strap on it and enjoy )

I totally agree with your point about the Revero’s versatility. I wear one everyday to work and it bridges black tie to business casual like a champ. I’m going to have to try it with more casual clothing.

·

Two of my favorites, my GS Skyflake and my ‘new’ JLC Reverso. I think the blue strap/steel (or platinum) case combo works well.

I feel the same way. Having the option of the black dial was the big reason I wanted the Duoface over the standard Reverso.

Definitely on my list love the reverso, especially the tribute black dial love the simple elegance of it out of my price range though,I can still reach for the stars.

When I purchased the reverso duo face large I got the watch on a black strap which I immediately removed for the light tan leather. I ordered the ostrich strap at the same time. After about 6 months the ostrich arrived. I’ve been wearing it that way since. Wonderful versatile watch with whatever you are doing. Up or down .

So elegant with suit, and yet it looks so good with the jeans and t-shirt! This Fagliano strap is just so versatile for the Reverso.
