Joining the CW fam!

For the longest time I was debating about picking up a white diver, and had narrowed it down to three choices. I was about to pull the trigger after launching this poll:

https://www.watchcrunch.com/chronoslice/posts/looking-to-pick-up-a-white-diver-which-would-you-choose-and-why-29325 (thanks to everyone who voted!) but hesitated after seeing an Instagram ad from CW featuring the Sandhurst. Long story short, I was influenced, and despite having a majority of black dials in my collection already, I guess the heart wants what it wants (or in my case, eyes). So here we are!

I think I’ll try and write up a full review once I’ve had more time with it, but early impressions are very positive…all the praise about finishing quality and value for money are well justified imo. It wasn’t the CW I was eyeing originally, but joining the fam nonetheless!

P.s. also just saw an email from them announcing a new watch releasing on 4/27…looks to be an integrated bracelet model. Very curious to see!

Looks awesome!

I went with a C65 Dune when they launched them, I think

CW knocked it out the park with the new C65s.

·

Very nice! I also recently got my first CW, a Dune GMT.

Thanks! Yes, CW has been on a tear with their recent releases. I had my eye on the C65 Dune for a bit too, tho was considering the White Sand version, but ultimately decided against it due to the lower contrast. The black tho is ❤

Congrats to you as well then! It's a fantastic looking piece! I'm pretty sure that the Sandhurst won't be my last CW that I'll be adding to the collection.

What bracelet is this. it looks great!

·

I've had my CW Aquitaine C65 for just under a year now and it looks great still. I think they make great stuff at great prices. I'm all set to go see this new integrated bracelet piece next weekend in SF.

Thanks, it's a bonklip style bracelet...super lightweight and comfy with a unique look imo. This particular one is the same one used by Serica, tho you can find similar ones from Forstner as well!

ahh, lucky! I'll have to wait until the NYC Windup in the fall to see it in person. Tho maybe that's a good thing so I can replenish the watch funds and digest all the media/YouTube reviews beforehand. Very excited to see how it compares to the recent Nevada Grendchen F77 re-release.

Beautiful timepiece.

Congrats.

Beautiful.

I will order the C65 Dune in July.

I was just telling myself these days I will postpone my plans to buy a CW in the next year and you post your NWA, plus they announce a new release... I don't thank you !

Great watch, love that there is no date on the Sandhurst (and COSC)

Lol, you should take it as a sign and succumb to the inevitable. I find the problem with CW isn’t whether to get one of their watches or not, but rather which one to get, as they have so many great options!

Just received a mail from CW saying new watch line being launched next Thursday. From the looks of the tweezer shots looks like an integrated bracelet. Anyone got any insider info??

Congrats on the pickup! I've contemplated picking up the Sandhurst model several times myself.

I’m counting on this being a strap monster, and judging by your photos it definitely is! Love the combo with the yellow one…where’d you pick that up from?

Thanks mate.

Yeah, it's a nice combo. Picked it up from The Strap Tailor.

Congratulations. That's a beautiful watch. I am the proud owner of four CWs, a living bastion of brand loyalty. They're just not putting a foot wrong right now.

Wow, a few more and you’ll be a de facto brand ambassador! Which ones do you own? And yea, CW is killing it!

Yea, definitely pricey but very versatile. I found it pairs great with a lot of my other watches, and it definitely changes the wearing experience.

I am very interested to see this one. I HOPE it has a different handset. I've got a trident 300 and the handset is great but I do feel like they are so bold that it kind of makes all the different models with that handset look very much the same. I don't know if that makes sense or not?

I would second this. I think they can still have consistent and identifiable branding but change up the style of the handsets between their different lines.

Love this GMT. Shame it's limited as not in a position to buy yet

Yeah; despite CW being so famously against celebrity endorsement, I'm pretty much doing it for them. Albeit I'm definitely no celebrity.

I have two C3 Malvern mk2s: one silver with brown leather (my first watch); the other charcoal dial with bracelet (probably my least worn watch). I also have a C5 Malvern, very rare I believe, perhaps mk1.5...? Cream dial on bracelet. Gorgeous. Finally I have a chunky Trident C60, mk2.5 (new name font but old teardrop hands).

I admittedly had to look all those up…did they drop the Malvern for the Moonglow/Bel Canto? I don’t see anything in their current lineup that seems that similar.

·

The Malverns were discontinued a few years back, I believe, along with the rest of their quartz output. But the original C3 and C5 were their first ever pieces; where it all began for them. They've come a long way.

·

I’ve been eyeing that one myself. Thanks for the write up.
