Cartier Santos bracelet sizing help!

I’ve got a 6.5” wrist and the bracelet on the Santos is kinda a hit or miss. One link less and it’ll be too tight, one link more and it’ll be too loose, dropping down loose pass my wrist ulna. I’ve played with numerous link adjustment and placement, can’t seem to get that perfect fit. Bummer it doesn’t come with half links. Fellow Santos owners, any tips or advices?

No microadjustment on those? I love the looks of these, elegant and tough, very steampunk in a good way.

At least it's quick adjust. My Cle... 😅

Unfortunately I believe it's going to be up to your preference: do you want the watch dancing around your wrist or do you not mind having the blood supply to your left hand shut off for the day?

I agree that having a half link adjustment would be ideal, but I suspect that isn't practical with the SmartLink system. My wrists are 17cm (6.75") and I have been able to adjust mine to where it's quite comfortable, however if my wrist swells it can feel a bit tight. Mine fits well enough that I haven't really searched out options, but if I could find a half link I'd certainly be interested in getting one. I tend to wear mine on the strap because I feel it helps make the watch look more casual.

Try 2 sided tape and a couple strips of deer skin on the inside. Will make it comfortable hidden and tighter. All easily removed.

Bummer they don’t offer that option.

I’ve tried both ways a few days prior and it was unbearable throughout the day with the tighter fit.

That’s a very good idea! Now to find some thicker leather piece to stick it on the case back.

I have the Medium and my wrists are 7 inches. Removed a few links - fits exactly where I want it.

What a stunner of a watch. Even as the proud owner of a tiny wrist (5.75") I would absolutely rock one of these given the chance. Looks great on you 👌

If the bracelet is making the watch wearing a bit miserable, then I'd experiment with it on a strap. Would look class.

This is the second time today you have something negative to say about a fellow watch enthusiast. Are you having a bad day?

@brysonandwatches it looks fine. In a world where people like Panerai, and massive G-Shocks, this is pretty tame.

You could look into an aftermarket strap:

Thank you buddy.  I got mine to be worn mostly on it’s bracelet but I’ll probably try some leather straps on it soon.

Just for clarity, it's not mine (I wish!). Just a stolen internet image.

But yes, it looks lovely. I'd love a Santos.

On a hot day I add a link and as it cools down, the link is back. The quick adjustment system allows you to play with it within seconds.

I end up wearing mine a little looser than I would a watch with more microadjus options. I wasn’t a big fan of the included leather strap when I first bought it, but I have actually been wearing it that way more often than on the bracelet. For some reason it has really grown on me

·

I have the same problem. I think the best think you can do is loose or gain some weight ;)

·

Trying to convince myself that the Santos is NOT the perfect watch for me - I asked the AD what to do when I couldn't get an ideal fit. He says if you've got the same number of links on both sides, try moving one link to the other bracelet. Being "lop-sided" somehow helps. Didn't make sense to me, but he was confident in his answer.

Good luck!

I have a 6.5" wrist and wondered the same thing about the OP's question...I think the Medium size is a much more proportional and overall better fit on 7" and under wrists. The OP may have much better luck with the Medium.

I just posted my solution and you can check it out. All you need to use is silicone cabinet door bumper dots.

Actually I searched your post during my research and (failed) trials stages, but eventually I have found out the perfect solution. Hope you still find it useful.

I’ve sold mine but thank you for sharing! I might even purchase it again one day so it’ll help definitely.

I saw another Cruncher sharing how to use silicone cabinet door bumpers to solve the problem. May worth a look.
