I just posted my solution and you can check it out. All you need to use is silicone cabinet door bumper dots.
Actually I searched your post during my research and (failed) trials stages, but eventually I have found out the perfect solution. Hope you still find it useful.
I tried it, but it was not good enough. The silicone dots are the add-on after moving the link to be lopsided. It now fits perfectly.
