At first I tried to organize my straps. I really did. A few months ago I even bought the prerequisite organizer and all. It took a bit of time trying to organize straps though. I don't mean categorizing them, etc. I mean just the simple act of putting the straps into the slots was too much work for lazy old me. I don't get lazy replacing the straps on my watches, that's fun. I do it every day. Sometimes several times a day. But I'm too lazy to put my toys away properly. Call it ADHD if you want. I call it sloppy living.
These days, I don't even bother with the whole song and dance. I'm done. I'm just done. I have even thrown out straps that I know I'll never use again, even if they're barely used. Some I gave away. I never thought of selling them because... well, too much trouble for the amount I would get for them.
The clutter is grinding at my soul. Why do I have so many straps anyway? And why do I feel compelled to buy even more?
There are straps that I bought that successfully never left the watches I bought them for. They just fit and will continue to be used until they're worn out. Only then will I maybe try something else. Maybe. But 80% of the straps I have bought over the past year I don't know what to do with. They're just... there. Mocking me.
Collect watches it'll be fun, they say. Oh great hobby, they say. Put into account the servicing cost of watches or you might regret it, they advise.
No one talks about the ancilliary cost and madness of accumulating straps that begets collecting watches.

You have entered The Strap Twilight Zone, welcome to the club 😎
Welcome to the club lol
I spend at least a minimum of 130.00 or more for custom straps. I take the time now to match my watches with unique skins and leathers.
This entire hobby is ancillary cost and madness isn’t it? 🤔😉
I keep all my straps in a cookie tin! And this way I avoid having to order them! 😅
I have a few Vario strap rolls I use to keep em' organized👍

You know it.

I should do the same. Why the need to organize them in the first place? At my core I know that's not me.

How are you so organized? Also, where did you get the Fagliano-looking strap? 3rd strap, middle group, 2nd photo.

There you have the solution friend! A simple box of cookies! 🍪
I have similar pouches. It does work okay. I have the chance i dont like natos and i like regular black and brown leather in fancy leather. It does help to curb the enthusiasm a bit. I tend to gravitate to 3 straps max for a watches.
I did offered my expensive alixpress stuff as a lot to a fellow beginer enthusiast that could so try on a lot of stuff for nothing. Both are happy, as i removed some cluster in the process.
I think I need more straps 😉
Mate ….this made me laugh out loud
I just don't want to count my straps. Otherwise I would feel the urge to make a budget, an Excel catalog, ... 😭
I just shove them in a drawer and a tackle box. The trick is creating layer upon layer so that I just see the tip of the iceberg.

Ignorance is bliss 😃
OMG I did not know this... made my day, thanks ! 😂😂😂
Sounds like a good strategy. How do you choose your two per watch though?
I was ruthless. If they hadn't been used in two or three months, they were history.
This is the real collection, straps 😂.

Same song here...this is an old photo, and 20mm only....👀🤏🏻😆😝
I know the cure (at least for the interim)
Buy More Straps 🫶
Most I've paid for a strap was just over £20, bracelet just under £40.
I use to do that. I then end up with tons of straps I don't use.
That blue strap is magic. Unbelievable.
Thank you!
