I don't know a lot about this watch. I've tried looking for information online but, alas, no luck. I do know that this one is something special indeed.
Firstly, it came out of nowhere. Yesterday, while at the office, around 3 in the afternoon, I get a message from an unknown number telling me that they're outside the gates with a delivery and that the guards wouldn't let them in.
I had been receiving a number of packages since morning. My girlfriend asked me to receive a bunch of deliveries since she's out of the country and so I had been expecting a lot packages that day. A lot. What can I say? She treats shopping like it's an olympic sport. The plan was for me to bring all her deliveries to Singapore when we meet three weeks from now.
So I went the gates thinking it's another one of her packages. I opened the package and was shocked to see this beauty. No card, no note, just the watch. I knew immediately, however, that it came from my girlfriend. A few weeks ago, she sent me a link on Instagram for this very watch. She thought I should buy it for my collection. I told her I would love to, it's a good fit for my "1 watch for every decade since the 1930s theme", it's also a great brand with a long history and it's German. I've always wanted a German watch. But I also know I didn't have the cash to get it. I've been chipping away at my credit card payments and also needed to prepare for our upcoming rendezvous in Singapore. I told her, rather defeated, that while I would love to own it there are more important things.
"It's just a watch," I shrugged.
Then this arrived.
It wasn't my birthday, no anniversaries to celebrate, no big news, no real reason for a gift. I called her up. She answered. Still in bed, still sleepy (my afternoon was early morning for her). I was floored, speechless, and I'm almost never speechless, she just smiled.
"Why?"
"Because I want you to have it."
Those weren't the exact words but I'm keeping it short out of politeness to you. Though, those pretty much sums up the conversation we had.
I kept thanking her but I kept saying I didn't deserve it.
"Masterclass in how to treat your partner, eh?" I said, all the sudden shy, humbled, and incredibly happy.
So...
This watch. I love it. I'm keeping it forever. This one is very special, perhaps the most special watch I now own. Just sharing. I don't even care about the specs. It's awesome, beautiful, and comes with extremely high sentimental value right out of the gate.
"How could I possibly thank you?"
"Wait til you see the bag you'll be getting for me in a few months' time."
Ah.That's how.

Nice and understated. I've not seen that before (but I know little about the brand).
You better put a ring on it before someone else gets to her 👍
Wow, what a beautiful dial
Nice, that is gorgeous.
Beautiful story, unique and classy piece I'm sure you will treasure!
She did good!!! I wish I had a partner that was that in tune with my passions and got me such good gifts! As @SpecKTator said, put a ring on her ASAP!!
Great story and beautiful watch. Good luck with the bag!
That’s going to look great your wrist.
