Dive Bezel + Chronograph makes no sense

What's the point? The Dive Bezel is ment to be an easy to read chronograph anyway, so I really don't get why some companies slap both on there.

Any thoughts?

The red circles and red on the strap makes a 🙁

The more they put on a watch the more they can charge for it right?

·

I actually wouldn't mind having both a chronograph and a dive bezel for timing things if it could be in a not so large package and legible. They have different applications but would also be nice to simultaneously track two things.

That said, I'm not so sure how I feel about this Tudor release...

This goes way back. The Breitling chronomat is an example of a diving chronograph and the Rolex Daytona has screw down pushers for double duty (though it doesn’t have a diving bezel).

The design is meh on this Tudor though.

·

It’s a countdown bezel.

·

Yeah, I’m lost as to why dive-chromosomes exist. Not a bad looking watch, just confusing.

·

Tudor have been on a roll lately, releasing great looking watches. This roll ended with this last release.

·

I'm not a fan of this watch, but I wouldn't mind if one of my watches had a countdown bezel. I don't think I'd need it on a chrono though

·

It does feel a bit like someone in the marketing department has decided "dive watches do well + chronos do well - how about we combine the two?"

·

Spaghetti & Pasta.

(And for a more serious answer, the chrono is above water so time-on-board/overall, and the bezel for below so dive time only. I can see the logic. Though really the chrono needs to go longer than an hour.)

·

It's hideous 🤣

A shame, I like the Pelly & the FXD, but looks like Tudor are going to spoil this line by milking the cash cow for all it's worth like the Bland Bay's..

·

I believe chonographs offer a bit more resolution whilest the dive bezel doesn't deplete the power reserve when you forget you set it.

·

its not uncommon to put many complication on one watch. back then when i was searching for chronograph i found these nivada grenchen chronomaster aviator sea diver. such a long name for one watch, its pack with chonograph, diver and gmt bezel (track 2 time zone) and originally its from 1962. not a fan of a red colour on the strap though kinda weird lol

It a collaboration with an extreme racing team. Of course a Rugged waterproof Chronograph makes sense.

·

I feel like this watch is getting a beating, and rightfully so…

But the biggest issue is when you have a countDOWN bezel with a traditional countUP Chronograph. You can time a countdown for up to 60 seconds I guess? Silly. I get a dual purpose but then to negate any regatta timing features?!? Complete failure to launch.

And don’t even get me started with the rehaut.

·

Probably the only way to track an hour on this watch. But the countdown bezel on any sport watch has my eye.

However idk about Tudor chronographs in general. Not my style

Seriously agree. I love dual register chronographs that show minutes and hours. I trust by the minute hand moving that the watch is running or if it's open case back by the movement moving
