Achievement Unlocked: How did you manage that?

I don’t know how either.

One day I looked down and there it was: a knick in the titanium bezel and a scratch in the sapphire crystal. It’s faint, but it’s there.

Is it a big deal? Not really. Does it bother me? A bit. Does it make me wonder what on Earth hit this thing to scratch the crystal and put a tiny gash in the titanium? Yes

I noticed a dink in my bezel and it was realistically tiny… barely noticeable. However it seemed to scream at me every time I looked at the watch, and as a result I had to send it in lol. £300 later my watch no longer screams at me 😂😂

i blame GRAVITY.

Sorry to hear you nicked your watch. You probably know all of this already but like any material, there's a limit of abuse it can take before damage occurs. Titanium has different grades and corresponding strengths. Sapphire, while more resistant to damage than acrylic or hardlex, is not impervious.

Tungsten is actually the strongest metal in the world, used to tip artillery. My wedding ring is also made of it and it came with a warning that only certain materials can cut through it in case forced removal is needed.

Patina is evidence you lived and loved that watch. I send watches in to be buffed at service. I'm not one to worry about resale on a Rolex that's been polished. I wear my watches. I also am able to live comfortably for a long time with dings . If it bothers you I say get an estimate for repair.

Been there, done that. I think the first time you see a scratch you're like "WTF!" After a while, it's just part of normal life and new scratches are like "meh".

Enjoy your watches!

The world is a dangerous place...invest in bubble wrap. It's safe!

The Patina cabal assures me that this damage is there to offer fond remembrances of something. Don't forget!

One of the kids, I'm sure.
