As a native English speaker, I have this strange love of seeing French (or German) writing on a watch, so much so that it bothers me if the same word is written in English. For instance, "Antimagnetique" instead of "Antimagnetic" and God-forbid that I find a pulsometer that declares that it is "Graduated for 30 pulsations" instead of "Gradué pour 30 pulsations."
It's entirely absurd - I admit this freely - but I can't help it!
So what are your "embarrassing" obsessions when looking at a watch or its design elements? Do you secretly live for bakelite, or are you a down-low faux-lume lover? This is a safe space, time to tell-all!

Fauxtina is my weakness. Love it!! 😍
But I've got a bit of an aversion to round lume plots, dunno why 🤔

What you said. I do have watches with round lume that I like, but that would be the one detail I'd change.

Yeah, weird one that. Can't explain why. Glad I'm not the only weirdo 😉🤣👍🏻

Oh, you're definitely not! Me either, it's put me off so many otherwise fantastic watches.
This will mess you up then. Are we going with English or Deutsch? Let’s do both:
Most of my watches are German, and I like it when they have German, even better the place of manufacture, on the dial. My Dekla Deckwatch is therefore a double-win with “Stuttgart” and “Hergestellt in Deutschland” both featuring.
How do you feel about Latin?!
IFYKYK...🤔😉
I've admitted my fondness for archaic dial text terms like waterproof, Incabloc, self-winding, etc.

Yes, everyone's burning question: "But how many jewels does it have?"
Is that a bit like when you were a child, and you'd rate each other's bikes by asking "How many gears does it have?".

I will agree with the OP that rubis is a cooler term than jewels.
I love the “k” that German words use so I like it when it says “Automatik”
Love this poster design - glad we can still get new Tissot watches with this style logo!

Love that caseback. "Wasserdicht" for the win! 🍻
I have a soft spot for nicely executed roman numerals on the dial. My UN is prime example of marine chronometers design

I once saw a 1-star review for a Sinn that complained that it was obviously cheap since they misspelled 'Automatic'.
I like seeing the "Swiss Made" or "Made In Japan" on the dials. Would love to own a watch with "Made in China" or the likes on the dial someday as well. (And German).

Oh my god I don’t even know what to say.

🤣🤣🤣 Fantastik
I love seeing non-English words on a dial too. Another thing I love is the Camy logo. I think it's that "m" that either connects or underlines the rest of the word that makes the logo so attractive for me. I also love the dove and olive branch logo.

Seagull tends to put "China Made" on their dials. I like to see that, it's certainly something special.
Seagull watches put "China" in Chinese language (中国) on their dials.

You deserve the best Chinese Icon Watch Seagull 1963 and the authentic one:)
After all the comments posted, still no love for the 4:30 date window, I see 😂

It no doubt is special, authentic or not.
I like the big bold slanted ARAGON on their dials. Also do not like sterile dials, no matter how arty the dial is. You made it, you sign it.
