More like "Watches and Blunders," amirite?

Winners? Losers? Were you hoping for something that didn't get released, or did a release surprise you?

Did you like this year, or was it a "meh" for you (I remain in the "unimpressed" category).

I saw nothing that was interesting to me, and am very confused by the excitement around another Bland Bay announcement...

I think @Watch.gringa got me excited for the potential of a red dial sub and my disappointment comes from that not being a real thing.

I did get excited about the BB58 GMT - mainly because I love the BB58 but never intended to get one because I love date windows and the BB doesn’t have one. Also, I’m sucker for red (okay burgundy but whatever) and black.

Everything else was far above my tax bracket to be even bothered with.

I was really pleased with the releases this year. Rolex was fairly subdued by their standards. Tudor put out some watches that we’ve been waiting for and did so in great fashion! We also saw a new “world’s thinnest watch,” which is always intriguing. We were also able to see some really cool complications like that of the IWC QP and more. All in all a great year and I really wish I were there to enjoy the fun of W&W 2024!

Having walked the halls of Watches & Wonders this week, I would largely agree it was a yawn…with a few exceptions.

My report will come on Friday after I recover from my travels on Thursday.

Did I come away with any new watches on order…the answer is…yes…but you will have to wait for the report.

No matter the fact that most of the designs were safe plays with alternative materials or change in dial colors, it was still a fantastic time.

Getting to chat with Wei Koh and briefly hanging with Nico was one of the fun experiences.

Another trip to Villeret to visit with the folks at Minerva was another great time.

More to come…time to sleep (pun intended)…

Bb41 with t fit is what I was waiting for, then add the rubber strap and monochrome look sheesh! I'm sold

I saw a lot, but only if I had 20,000 or more. 😬

I have to say that I was quite disappointed with W&W24. Mostly strange dial colors - and nothing spectacular, except the IWC Eternal Time, which I’m waiting for someone to validate whether it is as good as IWC claims to be.

Me, being an IWC fan (and have multiple IWCs in my collection), I am thoroughly shocked and confused at what IWC introduced this year. To me, the (pre-W&W’24) Portugieser lineup is the best there is amongst dressy/sporty watches. They are legible and beautiful. The weird colors of W&W24 Portuguese watches, however, they are neither beautiful nor easily legible. Maybe it’s just me with my old age and my deteriorating eyesight.

What is shocking is Vacheron did something similar with their Patrimony! I loved the preW&W24 The Patrimony and the Portugieser… what are these people at IWC and Vacheron smoking?!?!

Can't say anything grabbed me, a disappointment as always.

It was mostly a snooze fest. More Black Bay variations, more gold, oddly placed complications from GS, weird colours, etc. The only new release I might consider would be the monochrome BB41. But I’d still rather have a Submariner.

The only highlight was the Bulgari. I don’t want one and can’t afford one but damn, that’s impressive engineering.

I don’t think anything will ever top the Cartier Masse Mysterieuse for me. Every big event will be second rate until someone beats that in engineering and ingenuity.
