Watch rotation schedule?

I know this will vary drastically from person to person, but was just curious how others handle this. For example, I typically will try to wear a different watch every day (I only have 8), so rotating them relatively evenly. There are definitely days where I don’t do this, but it’s probably about 85% of the time I’ll follow this pattern.  I do this with my clothes as well, so it’s definitely some form of OCD for me. But I’ve also heard others that rotate watches seasonally….so they will wear a specific set of watches in the fall, which may be different than what they wear in the summer.  Or those that wear a watch for a month or week, then rotate. Would love to hear from others and your experiences. Thanks.

I change daily, sometimes a few times depending the day. What’s more is I’ll often change straps as well when I put a watch on. It’s a constant rotating selection for me. It’s all about my mood for the day.

No schedule at all for me - just depends on how I'm feeling at the time.

·

Seasonal wear for me. Anything I prefer on a leather strap is getting extra wear in the winter, braceleted watches, and rubbered/NATO'd watches in the summer.

·

Whatever I fancy in the morning. Sometimes it takes a while to choose. I did try a strict rotation policy for a while but it really didn't work.

·

I choose on mood and what I’m wearing. Admittedly some pieces don’t get much of an airing, but wouldn’t change anything about my collection. Sometimes I just get the pieces out of the display box and stare!

I’ve tried wearing the same watch for a whole week and changing the strap daily to suit my needs for the day, but I found the amount of time invested into changing straps so often was onerous plus some watches are more suited for dress vs casual vs adventurous. Back to swapping the whole watch daily and strap intermittently.

Same here, although in reverse order - I'll generally pair a watch with what I'm wearing and go by mood if more than one in the collection will pair. They're man jewelry after all, lol 😆

I wing it…look at the box and what ever jumps out I go with it…I usually switch during the day for fun or based on activity

·

I normally wear each watch for a week or so then change. Even working from home I prefer a more formal attire and dressier watch, but when cooking, cleaning or going to gym I would always put on Casioak which is not part of rotation. I can pick a different watch during rotation if I go out and need corresponding style

·

Weekly switch with two. Then I’ll switch to a new pair every month or so.

I have 12 that I switch. Then I have a secondary set that doesn’t get a ton on wrist time.

·

I switch watches 2-4 times per day…..and it’s entirely based on my mood. 🤣😂

I change my watch daily but without any scientific process, it's just whatever I feel like. Certain watches get worn more than others for sure but that is the way it goes.

A friend of mine wrote an Excel macro that he uses to force him to wear every watch in his collection evenly, I'm just not that way.

Love it

I’m with Dingus on this one, often a few times a day. Can’t help myself.

I like to think that I'll wear all of my watches on some type of rotation, but invariably what ends up happening is, a watch will just hit like a 2 week streak on my wrist.

Recently it was the Casio DW290 - I got it and thought "I'll wear this over the weekend while I do the gardening and all the errands" then I kept it on for like a week and half.

Then the kids went back to school and I had to go to the office and then it was the BB58 for 2 weeks. I'll sometimes forget the whole reason I bought my Explorer 14270 was to be my everyday piece and sits in the box more often than it doesn't. It's all random and based off the vibe it seems!

That's awesome, I should whip up an excel macro!

No particular schedule for me

For the most part, I wear all my watches weekly or bi-weekly. There are some that are mostly work, there are some that are mostly weekend. Yes, the BB58 gets more time than the Cartier Tank, but they both get worn.

Try to go different every dayor more or less every day. Outfit concept matching is the standard that can trump this rule though
