Winder??

Any recommendation for watch winders? I found a few on Amazon - but most have mixed reviews. So, trying to get suggestion for something which is tried and tested.

I got one of the cheaper ones, about $70 I think. It stopped working after a few months so I don't recommend them. They're not really needed unless you have a perpetual calendar or something like that.

You'll most likely hear the "Wolf" brand mentioned in this thread as recommended.

Thanks @madminuteman - I have been sceptical as well. Given the mixed reviews.

Are those the ones which cost >$1K? I will prolly pass and buy another watch 😜

Thanks nonetheless!

search Amazon for "CHIYODA Watch Winder for Automatic Watches with 8 Motors for 8 Watches, LCD Digital Display, 12 Rotation Modes and High Gloss Brown". I have a few Chiyoda winders and they have worked pretty well. I think they use Mabuchi motors, which are fairly quiet.

I can't really understand why there seems to only be super cheap ass winders, and winders so expensive I'd have to sell all my watches.

Where the bloody middle ground??

Had the same question running through my mind as I was exploring getting one. As of now I think I will hold off…

Wolf.Acept no other.

BTW, before getting the Wolf, I bought one off eBay and it was pathetic. Did not even turn a heavy watch. Live and learn.

Just mentioned Wolf. BTW, I read from bottom to top so I didn’t see your comment till after I made mine. Are you telepathic? 🤣

Great minds...😉

In before “you don’t actually need one, it does no harm to let them sit and wears them out faster if you keep them running” 🤓

·

I have two Wolf winders, and am extremely satisfied. Whatever you decide on make sure that it is either programmable or has cycles that let the watch rest periodically as opposed to continuous winding.

·

I made mine with a pool noodle and a furnace humidifier controlled with a cheap timer for 4 watches.

·

I bought a Versa for about $50 USD the end of January. So far it’s working fine. Actually rather quiet with multiple direction and rotation settings. Couldn’t get my head around spending more for a nice winder than my most expensive watch.

·

I have the Rothwell single winder and I think it works well. But I’ve never had experience with any other brands 😅

·

I reviewed the Mozsly single watch winder recently. I would easily recommend. Super quiet and plenty of control options for turns per day. And there's a rest period each hour, like mentioned above. At the risk of spamming, here's the video link: https://youtu.be/JVBQd8NzUxA
