Since I got my GS Shunbun earlier this month, it has been the most worn watch.
I love the feel of the watch and how varied the dial color looks in different light conditions and angles.
Now I want to explore putting it on a strap - but I’m very unsure of what color and material to go for.
Any suggestions?

Chocolate brown, tan, or classic black
Tan or dark yellow / brown is what I am thinking of. Will prolly avoid black.
Any suggestions on the material? Will suede look good?
Grey suede, tan, dark blue
PS: you can cheap out on suede and textured leather straps because they are usually lower cuts with a heavy plastic finish to emboss patterns on top.
I’m paying attention to the suggestions! Although colourblind, I do own this stunner, so I’m making a shopping list for straps 🤩
IMO, a burgundy, dark blue, dark cool green, or dark teal will all play very nicely with the pink dial. I'd stay away from things that have yellow or orange tones. With browns, shoot for reddish tones.

ohhh nice!!
If you want a more casual look, I can't recommend putting it on sailcloth enough.

I use a black sailcloth strap from watchgecko on mine but I haven't tried other colors yet
Check out the few pics here from Delug's strap guide for the Shunbun where they attempt their own version of "the four seasons" with just the one watch. https://delugs.com/blogs/strap-guide/strap-guide-grand-seiko-sbga413-shunbun
I also like some of their recommendations for the sister cherry blossom watch (SBGW289): https://delugs.com/blogs/strap-guide/strap-guide-grand-seiko-sbgw289-kirazuri-cherry-blossom

Thnx! This is very helpful…I really like the yellow/tan strap combo. Will think about it a bit more before ordering the strap.
I have both that as well as a burgundy/mahogany alligator. The slight redness to the mahogany really goes well with the occasional glimmer of pink in the watch. And the one you pictured above just changes the character a lot, I really like it.
