Dream Collection

What's your dream collection?

Age: 27

Lifestyle: Active

Mine is:

Tudor Black Bay 54 - a perfect everyday watch (GADA). This is the watch that got me into the hobby and had me obsess over it for the past year. I bought the new Burgundy Black Bay 41 as a comprimise purchase because I just couldnt get my hands on the 54, but eventually I decided to sell it when my AD called me when one became available. It's versatile for any occasion, and I adore its smaller, vintage size. Can't wait to receive mine in 2 weeks!

Rolex Pepsi GMT - timeless classic. It's the epitome of GMT watches and allows me to easily track the time in my hometown, which has a 7-8 hour time difference depending on the season. Plus, the ceramic bezel adds a touch of variety compared to the Tudor.

Cartier Tank Louis - the quintessential dress watch. It's sleek, understated, and timeless, especially on a leather band. And being gold, it's truly special.

Phenomenal grouping. I might swap the tank with a Santos but I could “live” with your dream collection 😀

Believe it or not, I initially considered having Santos here before the tank, but I settled on the tank because of its dressier appearance. But a santos is a very tasty choice indeed. It's all about how it fits into the collection.

It'd would be a great collection worth lusting over 😍 BB54 is THE BEST GADA 💯 I found it on my wrist all the time! I will throw in a #gshock or a rugged field watch (a #cwc maybe?) as your beater if that's your thing! My dream collection is pretty much same as yours but I'd take JLC #reverso as my dress option any day

Wow, excellent strap choice. The green looks amazing with the indices

·

Your choices are great! GMT, Dive, and Dress. You can't go wrong with your choices.

I too would do the Rolex GMT Master II, but I would choose the green for myself. Tudor BB Harrod's for my Diver. And a Cartier Tank or Reverso would be hot for Dress.

I'm a 52 year old OG = Old Guy 😂 I'm proud and humbled to say that I've achieved my dream collection. A lot of hard work, good money management, right time right place property investments and stocks, lived below my means in my 20s to my early 40s.

I’d love to own a tank one day. They’re beautiful watches. I have a DJ36 and just bought a Tudor BB 41 today and I have to say I’m very content. My next purchase will probably be something more budget friendly or I may put money into my Casio Royale and mod it out fully so it’s not as cheap feeling. This watch addiction has a voracious appetite haha.

·

Sorry for vagueness, but probably a dozen watches total, with a healthy number of microbrands, maybe 1/2 Chinese clomages, and a few well-known (to watchnerds) names

·

My 3 watch "dream" collection; 1) Seiko SKX007, 2) Grand Seiko GMT SBGM247, and 3) Christopher Ward C1 Moonglow.

If I'm being honest, I would stop collecting with the Grand Seiko GMT SBGM247. I think it looks stunning, I believe it's built tough enough to handle everyday wear and tear, and it's a GMT. I could sit back and just enjoy the watch and enjoy everybody else's collections.

Not really big into hypothetical but I'll play.

▪︎ Tudor - 34th Anniversary gift from my wife. It cannot be sold.

▪︎ SMP 300 - Pops took me to see my first Bond film in 1977. He and I never missed a 007 release date until he passed away. Took my son to see his first 007 movie, Casino Royal in 2006 (he was 5, I know bad father). He's 22 now and we have seen every Bond movie together on it's release date.

▪︎ Speedy. As a kid I have vivid memories of the AV person bringing in the TV to our science class to watch the space shuttle launch.

When the shuttle exploded we could not comprehend in the moment what had happened. I remember the teacher freezing momentarily only to gather herself quickly to turn off the TV.

Lastly, my son is an old soul for some odd reason this is his favorite watch in my collection because of the acrylic crystal and the distortion it shows. He also loves chronograph and the fact that any strap looks great on a Speedy. He's a smart kid...

▪︎ Panerai - I'm Italian, so this one stays as well. I was born in the Venecian region of Italy but grew up in Genoa. I'm somewhat of a nerd and different in many ways. The unique design appeals to me.

▪︎ Aqua Terra - Simply put, it completes my Omega trilogy. My first choice was the Railmaster, but decided the AT would be the way to go. I will purchase the Railmaster when my health begins failing so my son can have the true trilogy. I'm 53 and while I'm still active and have all of my faculties, I want to enjoy the AT for as long as I can.

!!!!! This leaves the Breitling. While I've always aspired to own a Breitling Super Ocean (older model) and my favorie color is green, I would part with this one as the others have more of a personal connection.

Long answer to a short question, but it was a fun hypothetical.

P.S. I own 53 watches so the culling would start with everyone not shown above first 😉.

Enjoyed every second of this. Thank you for sharing, I love how you have a story behind every watch. This is what collecting is about, beautiful stuff.

Sorry to hear about your loss. May he rest in peace.

DJ36 is the best size imo. Which BB41 did you pick up?

Thanks man it really is. I’m enjoying it.

·
  1. Cartier Tank black must dial

  2. Hanhart Chrono 39mm

  3. Something white/silver/champagne under 40 mm from GS

  4. Omega DeVille grey/green dial

  5. OP silver

  6. Tutima M2 Seven Seas Ti (orange/red dial)

Got it all worked out in my head!!!

·

I like your choices especially the GMT Master II and the Cartier Tank. I would substitute the Omega Speedmaster 1861 as my third go to watch. I own the 1861 and it’s a classic. I use the chronograph for a lot of mundane things.

I say living the dream my friend 🍻

Thanks Jerome 🙏

First would be the Rolex Explorer, then the Tudor Ranger, and the a Rolex OP. I love the 3, 6, 9 dials. The Rolex is the flashy version and the Ranger is the subdued. The OP is the daily wear understated watch.

·

I posted this photo yesterday but I think it fits the criteria here too.
