My father had a few mechanical watches (one Seiko and other plain brands) and I always liked them, especially the automatic ones that didn't need hand-winding.
I always wore a Casio F-11 (a gift) in school and later an F95W (my first buy) in high school.
Later on, with my first real job, I started buying more "serious" watches, Seiko mostly.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Casio F11
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
I own a Seiko Panda which is only 2 years younger than me. It's probably one of my favorites. My oldest watch is a stunning King Seiko from 1971, so older than me.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
It's easy to start buying watch after watch when you begin collecting, I would say: Don't buy a watch only because you can pay for it. Try to be conscious and not just accumulate stuff.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Seiko has my permanent attention. 1970's Seiko and King Seiko watches keep grabbing my attention. Citizen, lately for their high-accuracy quartz movements.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Zenith Chronomaster El Primero: it is a technological feat of its time and still a beautiful watch. Quite like the Panda.
