Non-functional stuff drives me crazy. For me this is on par with lume on the indices but not on the hands, or chronograph subcounters without markings.
If it will be a winner (I think it will as well), this will probably just be a starting point for a platform they'll build on. New dials, smaller size, different types of straps...
If your Formex watch got damaged from getting wet in a pool, it would fall into warranty, and I’m quite sure they would oblige promptly. But I am also quite sure you won’t have problems in the first place.
I don’t see the issue. If you don’t buy it to buy a watch you like less, is it worth it just to add a different logo in the watch box?
Also, maybe a brand just has a “family feeling”, or a coherent design that speaks to you. Nothing wrong with it I think.
Since I like micro brands , buying from the same one has an additional bonus - each new brand can be a bit of a gamble, so if you already know they deliver preorders promptly, make a great quality product, and maybe you chatted with the owner a bit and know she/he is friendly and ready to address any potential issue, it can be reassuring.
