Rolex Bluesy 16613 or Rolex Explorer 2 Polar 16570?

Hi Fam, The Bluesy have always been my grail watch per say. However, the more I learn about the RE2 Polar, the more intrigued and mesmerized by it as well. I'm not someone who dives, so having GMT function is actually pretty cool over a rotating bezel on the Sub. That being said, just created a poll for fun to see if anyone prefer 1 over the other! :)

Personally the bluesy never did it for me - the polar explorer 2, esp the 16570, is a great late model ep2. But you gotta go with what your heart desires.

Thanks for the vote! The bluesy has always spoken to me aesthetically wise. However recently, it somehow seems the more videos I watched on the RE2, the more mesmerized I became with it. The function, "quirkiness", and having it's own unique standout is starting to rub onto me! Plus I might just be able to get one in the grey market for near/below retail with a decent trade in at my end..Damn it's a tough choice!

Two-tone watches pick up scratches very easily. So I’d go with stainless steel. I have both steel and two-tone. I wear the stainless steel much more often.

That's one of the cons I guess for having a TT watch. But I'm a sucker of the blue and gold combi..especially when the dial turns purplish..That being said, the RE2 Polar is really a decent contender and I foresee a chance whereby I might pick the RE2 Polar more often to wear over the Bluesy if i happen to own both in my collection....

I find myself liking my GMT watches more and more over time, so RE2 for me.

·

Not a fan of coloured subs ,so I'd go with the explorer 2 white dial

·

Why not you get both?

If not, get your grail first.

I'm very 99% sure your will get the blue after getting the polar first.. 😜

·

You said the Bluesy is your grail. That's the one to get, regardless of what other's may think (including me. I would actually prefer the Polar.)

·

I own the Blue sub in white gold and yes it is cool but i dont wear it very often. It scratches easy and blue doesnt go with everything. JMO

Buy your grail. The bluesy might actually be easier to get as well. Try only both as the EXII is certainly larger, but it wears great.

·

I own the EXP II black dial and for me personally it checks all the boxes. Your choices couldn’t be more different and I’d always choose the “grail” given the chance.

Let us know what you decide…

Get your grail first, the Explorer II can follow later. There's a reason why it's your grail watch after all.

Actually, I thought the same..Was thinking along the line that even after I get the Polar, there's a high chance the Bluesy will always be at the back of my mind....

Thanks for sharing! Indeed. I was thinking, if i get the RE2 now be it cause of function, price point, etc. Will I eventually still get a Bluesy? If I will..then would it be better to simply save up further and grab my grail first before considering whether or not to get the RE2 Polar eventually. :)

Thanks for sharing! I must say I gain a whole other perspective from your sharing. 🙂 Indeed, in my opinion, the Bluesy has always been the great sub ever produced (At least for me). 😄 Thanks man, I shall give it a serious consideration now..Seems a lot of fam here do agree with grabbing my grail first before other watches too. For me, scratches are what gives the watch it's character and remind myself of the great times I had with it!

Just wanted to update everyone that have helped in this poll previously! I went to a grey market dealer and tried on both the piece! And tbh, feel the polar exp2 fits me better and probably I’m not ready for the TT Bluesy just yet even though it’s my grail. That being said, the polar exp2 especially ref 16570 just feel so right on my wrist. The height, case sizing, most importantly the weight distribution(just right and not top heavy) makes me fall in love with this piece over and over again. Feel extremely blessed that I am able to own this piece at this stage in my life! Officially in the Rolex club! 😆😎 hope to bring this piece in all my future travels and “explore” the world with it on my wrist!
