Updated Old Bay concept

Hey WatchCrunch! Thanks for all your comments on my last post. Tried updating this diver watch design based on all that feedback. What do you think? Better? Worse? About same? Uninstall Blender?

I like the new design better. Particularly the bracelet. Are you looking to actually make these?

·

New one is much , much improved.

I would lose the "wings" on the hour hand though.

·

I would wear the blue dial if it was 40mm or less in diameter. I like it better than the first. What are the dimensions (theoretically)? Can I get a salmon dial?

·

The design looks great. I really like that blue dial.

·

New design looks better than the 1st, though I miss the circle indices but that's me

Width is 40mm. Bracelet 20mm tapering to 16mm. Bezel diameter 37mm. Lug-to-lug 42mm.

No, I just like designing watches for fun. No plans on making them.

I would try selling the design to a Maryland brand like Tsao Baltimore.

Nice! I like it!

They can have it for free if they are interested. A while back I actually tried emailing one of my designs (see below) to Towson Watch Company (another Baltimore based watch maker). I even modeled in their logo on the design. They never got back to me...

I like them also. There is also Maryland Watch Works, whose owner also own Hager and E. Stohlman.

I would buy the watch that started this thread is it had a good movement and was priced correctly.

This theme just seems to fit @TsaoBaltimore the best.

BTW if it were to happen just remember me. 😀

I think I like the hands and the dial design of the first iteration better. I really do love the brush work on this bracelet and curious how it would be executed.

·

Looks interesting. Nice dimensions edge of the bezel doesn't look very grippy, wonder how easy it would be to turn the bezel as close as it's dimensions are to the case top. How thick do you think it would be?

·

I also like the previous iteration, though this on holds more visual interest. Bracelet is striking.

·

Reminds me of the Tudor Hydronaut. I like it

·

Honestly, I like both designs. But the white dial variant of this one i would 100% buy in a heartbeat if it was real and a decent price

·

Cool design. Gives me Breitling and Seiko Monster vibes - the former with bezel rider tab look and the latter with the overall dial design. Think the case design is best part. 🍻

·

White fume dial, would fund on kickstarter

The bezel is raised a tiny bit above the case. And there is this "gutter" (for lack of a better word) around the top rim of the case that should help with grip. The watch is almost exactly 11mm thick:

Nice. I have big fingers, so the bezel gutter matters. 11mm is a good height for me, too. Nice looking watch.

Companies have liability if they formally accept outside designs or ideas.

You're gonna be better off getting in as an actual designer or starting your own company.

Honestly, I might do that one day.

I like it, but will admit it feels like idea overload in some areas though.

Apologies if its been asked already, but what's the story behind "old bay" ? Does remind me of old spice, especially in that font

Old bay is a seafood seasoning original to my home state of Maryland. There isn't really much more to it, I just like coming up with silly names for my designs.😄

Wow, a huge improvement. Much more cohesive with the lines flowing alongside the case. Better crown, cool bracelet and stylish handset. And you kept the bezel which already looks awesome, but it still might be hard to grip with the case being wider. Maybe try how it looks when you make the bezel half a mm wider.
