Promise, next one is going to be a diver.

Glad you all liked it. Thanks a lot for your likes and comments!
To answer some common questions in the thread:
The name is just, as @CdeFmrlyCasual put it, for shits and giggles๐. I live in Maryland and that's what we put on our license plates here. So either that or "Saving the Chesapeake".
Software used: mostly Blender/Cycles, Materialize for making some normal maps (but could be done in Blender too). Just a touch of post-processing in Photoshop (brightness/contrast/saturation etc).

I'm impressed.
Great design!
Wow
Yeah this looks sick
Take my money!
Very well done!
How about an engraved caseback of Dolly Madison saving treasures from the White House in flames ?
Great case design!
Iโd buy this
I really like this. I have to ask tho, is the name just for shits and giggles?
You should sell your design. Very nice
Fantastic! That is an amazing looking design. Makes me want to see it realized.
Nice, I really like the dial. A lot of close up details but clean from a bit far๐
Could the date be moved inside the 12 oโclock circle?
Tell us why that model name, am I missing something? Dont tell me about the war, but why did you choose it for this particular model? Render is good, watch is intriguing.
Gorgeous โ and good to see another designer on here ๐
Iโll buy this for sure
Getting some Parmigiani Fleurier vibes ๐

Yeah, pretty much LOL.๐

Yeah, I'll give it a try.

That's a great idea!!!

No particular reason. Couldn't come up with a good name, so wrote down the first thing that came to mind. A true Marylander LOL๐
Very nice! How did you create it? Only the name and small date bothers me a bit. But then again I donโt like to have the date on watches in general (unless perpetual).
Modeled in Blender. Rendered with Cycles. All free.
This is amazing. You have an incredible talent. If you don't mind, what program did you use to create this? Because I'm about to buy whatever "For Dummies" book there is to learn how to use it.
Someone asked me almost the same question on Reddit a few years back. Found my response, copy pasted below. Hope it helps:
Yeah, you can get into 3D modeling/rendering completely free these days, assuming you have a PC. I am an amateur, so don't know if my advice is good, but I can tell you what tools I used to make these renders.
Modeling done in Blender (https://www.blender.org/) It's free, has great community, and holds its own against professional 3D software quite well IMO. There are so many great plugins as well, most are free.
Rendering is done with Cycles. It is actually distributed together with vanilla Blender.
I use Materialize for making textures and material maps (https://boundingboxsoftware.com/materialize/). Also free.
Gimp is a free substitute to Photoshop (https://www.gimp.org/)
You can get some HDRI environment maps here: https://polyhaven.com/hdris
That's about all you'll need to get started.
For learning, there is a ton of tutorials on YouTube. Just search for
Blender UI tutorial,
Blender hard surface modeling,
Blender modifiers,
shading with nodes.
On the theoretical stuff:
mesh topography
subdivision surface
BSDF materials
Environment mapping
Wow, fantastic!! Very cool, can you share what software do you use for designing and rendering this? How long did it take you?
Thanks! I use Blender/Cycles. Modeling took about 4 or 5 hours. Rendering is about 3 min per image. I do have a decent GPU though.

Well, at the risk of alienating me, it did make me laugh. Iโd buy a โWar of 1812โ, even ironically.
Bonus marks for a blender tutorial post, I think youโve done more for the platform in that 5 mins than others in 2 years.

Do you have an idea for a name that you think might fit this design? I've struggled for hours and can't come up with anything cool and original:)

I like War of 1812, its original. Iโm sure if you had a marketing department it would have a field day talking about American Spirit, and courage under fire. Crack on, donโt listen to me; I would buy it.

Thanks! I have a M1 Max, will give it a shot. Itโll be fun to learn
Parmigiani vibes
