Been here but never introduced myself.

Hello my fellow horologists. I've been here for a little bit but I never properly introduced myself so here I am. I'm 50 yrs old and just started my watch journey a year ago or so. Over the last year I e began to really understand watches and the differences in them as well my personal taste. I've begun to build and mod and that is a journey that is both nerve racking and extremely satisfying and occasionally disappointing. Ive also learned that theres some really great people in this hobby but there's also some watch snobs and gatekeepers but I pay them no mind. I've learned that great watches can be found all over and just because some may not like what you like you should never let it affect what you buy and enjoy. I've found wonderful watches from a lot of the names we all know but also from some you wouldn't think of. I'm not rich so I buy a lot of budget watches.500 bucks and below. I've found that even though I love Tissot, Citizen, Omega ect .. I've also found a new playground in the Chinese market. Brands like San Martin, Seestern, Baltany and Pagani Design offer great watches for amazing prices. Watches with specs you'd never expect, exceeding brands like Casio, and Seiko. Dive watches GMT and homages for us who don't have 1000s to spend on the real thing. You get watches with NH34 35 38... Ect movements and sapphire glass both front and back for great prices. But I digress... I really love this site and the community has been amazing! Most are wonderful collectors with great hearts. Thanks for welcoming me.

Citizen is a Japanese brand founded way back in 1918! They have some serious history. Most of their watches don't have an automatic or quartz movements. So no winding or batteries. They run off of their proprietary system called Eco-drive. Which means they power off of light. Not just sun but ANY light, even a flashlight. On a full charge your watch can run even in complete darkness FOR MONTHS! If you find a style you like... BUY IT! That's my recommendation. Good luck and happy hunting.

I have the same watch and it unfortunately does not get the love it deserves! I've got mine on the mesh bracelet. Keeps perfect time and looks great!

Absolutely!! I love my Nighthawk! It's discontinued now and I do NOT like the new one. They cheaped out on the new and some of the watch is a downgrade from this one. I feel lucky to own the original especially now.
