Not the perfect watch for a nato?!

I would really like the look of a Tudor on a nato strap, but there is a problem in my opinion. The distance between the strap and the case is far too large. The spring bars are positioned too far out on the lugs. Why is this the case with Tudor and not with other brands? Is it just me, or does this bother anyone else?

Maybe some curved lugs would help? I heard of some watch brands (Ming) making two lug holes so, depending on the strap thickness you can adjust the distance to the watch case. Maybe it should be common practice.

There’s 8 billion people on the planet; it’s probably not just you. If you look hard enough, you will probably find at least someone who agrees.

Having said that, your Tudor doesn’t look any different than any other watch on a NATO to me. But, I don’t really care for NATOs and think it’s a travesty that your watch isn’t on its bracelet.

The Tudor fabric NATO would fit better if you ask me

·

Yes, the watch is a bit too high above the strap.

But it’s because you mentioned it, it’s not that obvious.

From the distance, it looks good to me, no issue.

I have one. same struggle

Distance looks good to me. I think it’s primarily the BB pro is a chunky watch, the height of the case compared to the strap positioning looks odd to me. I put a nato on my BB58 and it looked fine.

Tudor gets it from its big brother. Rolex have mostly never been designed for a strap until the Oysterflex (save for DD with gold end links). They look odd and will destroy a NATO or leather eventually with sharp or unfinished interiors. Mine stay on bracelet.

I agree, it’s not my favorite look, though options like RubberB or the likes are decent if they curve or match the height. NATO you are 💩 out of luck.

·

I think it looks great like that and that’s how it should look. I get exactly the same look on my military watches that have fixed bars. It’s nice to see another aspect to the case.

·

I can see your point a good strap or bracelet can have an impact on watch appearance, while this doesn't look bad and I'm sure most wouldn't notice it's whatever you think is best

·

Yes if the holes for spring bar were positioned nearer to the case it would feel like a cleaner fit. I too am anal about the fit of NATO strap. If I can see serial number under the 30 it wasn’t meant to be

You’re overthinking this. 🙂

Looks fantastic on the nato strap beautiful piece …!!💯🫡that’s the great thing about this model it’s a strap monster🤩

I love how easy it is to swap out the bracelets and put on straps. In this way I find my Tudors superior to Rolex as they are more compatible with aftermarket "mods" (not really a mod but just the word I'm going to use)

Looks like any dive watch on a strap to me.

You could also try an elastic style variant, the one the founder of WC @Max has on the Anachronist site, or something like a two piece NATO, ZuluAlpha, Hawkrigger, etc.

Personally most of my collection is on straps. Great way to change the look, far more adjustable than steel, lil bit extra security should something happen to a spring bar, and nylon doesn't melt/freeze your wrist off when outside for extended periods.

I agree. It was designed to fit the Tudor Nato style strap.

·

I think it looks great. Agree, you are maybe overthinking it 👍

·

Definitely overthinking it. It looks mint, better than on the bracelet. I actually don’t like the watch, but on the NATO the watch is now interesting 👍👌
