Same setup here! I’ve had a history of heart issues, so the Apple watch gives me peace of mind that everything’s alright there (I’m all good now) but I didn’t want to give up my mechanicals.
I’m a big fan of optimizing things. So for me, the perfect end game for this hobby (besides learning more about these awesome little machines) is to have a small, intimate, and perfectly curated collection for me. I spend waaaay too much time thinking about it and revising the collection. Luckily for me, that keeps me from buying them until I know for sure that one won’t rotate out of that very short list.
Wow…some people have some huge collections! I’ve got 4 including one that was handed down to me and one smartwatch. I’m a huge lurker; I absolutely adore watches but I only want a MAX of 5 (not including the smartwatch which I wear on my other wrist). Any more and I think I won’t enjoy them as much as they deserve. I just choose only watches that will stay with me forever.
