I was surprised my 44gs sbgp003 developed scratches (only seen with bright or direct sunlight) when i dont remember hitting it on anything. Must be the lint in my pockets as i sometimes put my hand in them. 🤪

Hime-sama (princess)

Or

Samurai-sama (the warrior)

I’m definitely finding it easier to live with the warrior. Keep in mind a GS is a dress watch built tougher than almost any tool watch (except scratches 🥲)

I was investigating a few new GS spring drive models at my regular ad since my first 3 have been high beat mechanical movements but the 14k cad prices with minimal courtesy discounts have me being a little cautious with my watch budget. The problem with GS is the addiction factor. One will not satisfy any enthusiast.

You would think for that sort of price they would apply an anti scratch coating, wouldn't you?

They have diashield on regular seiko prospex i'm not sure why they dont use it on GS-my guess is it makes the metal darker and not as shiny.

I just got myself a new one. I looked at it under bright light & the fine scratches are only easy to spot from about 6 inches under a mobile torch, preferably in a dark room, so pretty much unotticeable otherwise day to day. I think the cheaper GSeikos are like a gateway drug to the more expensive models, like every GS you own is better & more expensive than the last. This one cost me 1375 pounds half price. Which was an upgrade on an early 2000s sport model with lume, 8f model, lovely but too small.
