Christopher Ward C1 Bel Canto

Image

The new watch arrived on Monday.  Christopher Ward appears to have figured out how to ship their watches since the last time. DHL did not contact me to extort the import duty from me.  I opened it and immediately remembered what attracted me most to this watch.  Christopher Ward located the hammer and chime mechanism above the vivid colored watch dial in the manner that MB&F and Roman Gauthier and that is some damn good company.  It certainly makes the Bel Canto appear to be a high complication watch made by an outstanding watchmaker.  The titanium case and bracelet cause the watch to be light and wear extremely comfortable.  The tone of the chime is delightful.  Experience it here https://youtube.com/shorts/XrII8sB4erE

The back of the watch has a solid case back but it is about as exciting as a man hole lid in the street.  For God's Sake couldn't they put a music note or a bell or something interesting.  In addition to the pertinent information Limited Edition and the number of 300 pieces is engraved.  I am enjoying this watch immensely.

Congrats on the cool watch! I'm kinda kicking myself for not grabbing one when they were available.

Congrats!!! 👏 👏

·

Would it withstand a One Watch Challenge?

·

This looks amazing. Congrats.

·

Well done for snagging one! 👏

I love it when these limited editions go to people who care.

I‘m sooo mad mine arrives mid december… Why are people getting it so early 😢 No but it looks amazing, I haven‘t been this excited for a watch to arrive in a while!

It has something to do with the serial number.  I believe they are making them in batches starting with 001.  I was probably the first customer they showed the watch to at the Wind Up Fair (pre-release) and I placed my order within minutes.  Only 001 - 003 were spoken for at that point. WatchChris and one other WatchCruncher got theirs before me.  Luck and a successful YouTube channel may also play a part.

That is a watch I could love.

It doesn’t just tell the time, it reminds you of it’s passing.

I wouldn't oversimplify the chime module.  They had already designed a jump hour module and it took 2 years and 50 new parts to make it ring a chime.

My comparison to the masters watches is that Christopher Ward located key elements above the dial in the same style which makes a lot o sense so you can see them work without removing the watch and viewing through the case back.

Maybe it is not the highest complication but it's more than Rolex has ever done and look how highly they are regarded.

I kinda like the pattern on the back, looks like sound waves

Nice watch. Spray you with medicine man water to balance your ong (luck)

·

So amazing, congrats!

·

Envious to say the least, not in my budget, but want one.

How loud is the bell?

·

The bell is fairly quiet.  You won't hear it in most public places but when you are in solitude you get treated to the sweetest tone.
