Review: AQUA TERRA 150M CO‑AXIAL MASTER CHRONOMETER GMT WORLDTIMER 43 MM

As a result of spending too much money at the Omega Boutique at the King of Prussia mall, my wife and I received an invitation to their 10th anniversary celebration.  Of course I called to see if they had the just released Seamaster Aqua Terra World Timer Ti and it so happened that they received one of the prototype green stainless watches and one of the Titanium.  I have to admit that I did not care for the new green watch as much as the already in production blue model.  The Titanium did speak to me.

The first thing you notice is the weight.  You could wear this watch forever without ever knowing it is there.  It is light and comfortable.  If you have never experienced an Omega rubber strap, you are in for a pleasant surprise. Now to the looks of this World Timer.

If you are like me and have tried to find a World Timer with the most captivating map of the world, you have most likely concluded that no one holds a candle to Omega.  Their technique for blasting the metal to form a contoured map before adding color is amazing.  Now that I have mentioned color, I have to admit that the one disappointment about this watch for me is the lack of the vivid blue oceans from the blue dial version of this watch.  This Ti watch is more of a composition of metal grey and black but just because it is monochrome does not mean it is less beautiful.  Most of the watch is brush finished including the hands and indices surrounds which are also black anodized giving the most stunning beauty and contrasting the grey dial.  The date window at 6 o’clock has a white numeral on a black background.

You get all of the unique features of an Omega Aqua Terra including a Calibre 8938 Co-axial METAS Master Chronometer Certified movement and the city of Paris has been replaced on the dial by the much more significant city and headquarters to Omega, Bienne.  For me this would be the  perfect  World Timer if Omega would increase the size of the map by 10% thereby shrinking the size of the dial color and give me the vivid blue ocean from the original stainless version.

Yeah 11.8k...no way, looks cool but thats a 6k steel watch in my mind and 8k max for a titanium watch

Really like the Ti look here. Not sure I’d fork over my own ~$12k for this new but maybe $7-9k on grey in a few years. Great review.

Once it’s on market for awhile these will drop in betting to 8500 or so ( hopefully )

What on earth is King of Prussia …mall? A mall for ancestors of Prussian monarchs? Prussians who wish they’d not changed name to Germany? What an odd name!

Also, dam 🦫! You’re getting special invites to Omega parties 😎👏 sweet! I’m hoping for some GS parties one of these days. 🤞

I too am head over heels for Ti, hope the trend keeps spreading

King of Prussia is a town in Pennsylvania. The mall is extremely high end brands and it doesn't hurt to have monarch's money if you shop there.

Yes, we are on Omega's list of suckers, so we were invited to buy another of their watches at 10% discount but it didn't apply to new releases.

My GS is a JDM model that I bought from a Japanese dealer so I am shunned by local GS. I think I get invitations to GS events in Japan but I don't read Japanese so I am not sure.

Titanium is the best material for making watches. It is not just for racing bicycles and aerospace anymore.

I have a IWC Timezoner. The prices are comparable. I would like to add this one in my collection. It looks awesome. I know Omega boutique pretty well in King of Prussia. I use to live in Philadelphia.
