If You Could Only Have A Single Omega Watch... Ep1.

If you could only have one watch from Omega, which would it be and why?

This is mostly for us who do not own one already, but if you do, feel free to chip in your experiences. If you own more than one, which would you keep if you could only keep one?

New model or an older one doesn't matter.

I'll list the main models for reference:

  • Speedmaster

  • Seamaster

  • Aqua Terra (yes, officially a Seamaster, but it's really it's own thing)

  • Planet Ocean (same boat as the AT)

  • Constellation

  • Deville

  • Globemaster (officially a Constellation sub-model, but again, kind of it's own thing)

Feel free to choose a specific sub-model & reference and let's make it not pie-in-the-sky. Make it one you could realistically own if you won say, $5000 to go with your already planned watch spend.

I'll list mine in the comments.

If I could only own one Omega watch, and I didn't have an extra $5K to spend it would be the Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow ref.3594.50.

Image

The Broad Arrow is just a bit off beat & gives it just a little bit of quirkiness or whimsy I like in a watch; while still being an Omega and reminiscent of the Moonwatch.

If I had the extra $5K in my watch fund, it would likely still be the Broad Arrow.

Why? I have an interest in engineering and a desire for anti magnetic watch. Can be worn casually or dress. Has some ruggedness. And it's a master chronometer.

·

first choice would be the 3861 speedmaster

Image

the other is the speedmaster 300, mostly because of the old looks lol

·

🤔… tough one even though the SmP is always on the chopping block and only saving grace is that my wife likes that piece..

But I find I wear the AT more …

I much prefer the Seamaster 300 because of the neo-vintage look as well. Plus, no wart.

If I was choosing a 2nd place, the 22010382003001 Aqua Terra would be it

Seamaster 300 I would keep.

Speedmaster I would sell.

I like both equally, but rarely wear the speedy as it's a bit fragile with the hesalite crystal.

Luckily I don't need to sell either, so I'm keeping both.

I can respect it. Solid choice.

I was wondering if I'd see someone choose the Railmaster. It's a great watch.

I also picked this one up! It’s a great and underrated model in omega’s lineup

·

So I’m not an omega fanboy, but if I had to buy one while a gun is held to my skull this would be it

·

Globemaster all day every day!

Ik that but it has the omega name when kinda makes it a omega

Nope

I bought the Omega Seamaster 300 and then 2 years later bought the Globemaster.

I have since sold the 300 (I loved it and miss it, but I needed to sell it to pay for my JLC Reverso).

Honorable mention pieces would be Deville Hour Vision (blue dial) or the 41mm Aqua Terra.

Turns out, having a Monster Thread you participate in all day is kind of exhausting.

Thanks everyone for your participation!

I have several omega watches but my all time favourite is my bi-metal 1992 Speedie Triple Date.

Absolutely love it.

Seamaster 1957 for me

So many great ones. Seamaster 300 in blue, or speedy. Or blue AT. Or seamaster 300m arctic. Or……

·

I’d go with an Aqua Terra 38mm white dial

Image

I love the dark gray indices and hands and the way they perfectly match the rubber strap. I wear simple watches more than watches with a lot of complications or dive watches with large bezels. I still love those but if I could only have one then I’m picking this which has all the specs I’d ever need and fits my wrist size well. I could wear this on a boat or at a formal event, and with any outfit.

I’m a sucker for a bracelet too so I’d have to get both options

Oh for sure getting both the bracelet & the strap. Make it as versatile as possible.

·

I’ve had an aquaterra and I have a Speedmaster and #vintage deville. Love the brand. But while I love the Deville, my fav is this… because 007 brought me into both watches and omega
