Seiko 5 55th Anniversary
All the 5s for this anniversary!
I don’t often like “modern seiko” have no idea why, I have only ever owned vintage seiko. I have modern seiko movements in some watches clearly but they are in other watches.
This release, along with the Seiko 5 GMT to me are some of the most exciting releases (last year & incoming)
What are your thoughts?
Spoiler, I intend to add this to the collection, and I like to think on some way get a have experience with a modern Seiko but in a retro/vintage styling so I can maintain my ignorance of “modern seiko” within collection 😂

I get the benefits of modern watch making, an upgraded movement compared to vintage ore 7S26 calibres in a more wearable size and vintage aesthetic.
Also can we all agree the box is funky too! 😎
Already pre-ordered and eagerly await its arrival. In the meantime, I am looking for a complimentary 6106-8120 just to say I have both.

I don’t see anyone here mentioning price so I’ll jump in. It’ll be “a little over” $1000 as stated in a recent video by Worn & Wound. With Hardlex & a 4R35. I was expecting under $500 due to the insane 15k+ production numbers but apparently it’ll be quite a bit more. Hopefully they were wrong.

Yeah I am hoping to go the route of a JDM one personally. But at 15555 I feel I will be okay to get one 😂
She's a real looker that one and with all of her little bits getting a freshening up she has the makings of a keeper.

$525CDN. I've ordered one.
Not a fan of this Seiko, says the guy who has 12 of them. Could be that it's sharper in person. Glad that it seems to be priced right for those that want one. Speaking of modern, four of my favorite Seikos are from the never mentioned Neo-Classic line. These watches all bear the prefix SGE and have classically beautiful dials, usually sapphire, and 100m WR. They all used to come in under $100 and you can still find them for not much above that.
