Which to buy? Opinions sought!

I'm trying to decide between these two. I'd like the input of those who've owned either. I already own the Omega Seamaster 300m Professional in white, but I'd still be keeping that one too.

Hi, I guess, it depends on the activity or hobby you do. If you are a desk diver, the seamaster, and if you are a desk racer, the Speedmaster.

You could also consider less important things like aesthetics...

Edit: I forgot to mention the desk astronaut that there is in each of us.

I know, they're way different and it's nonsensical, but hey, that's the way this hobby frequently goes.

Bond seamaster is my second fav omega ever so its clear for me

·

Given you already have a Seamaster, perhaps the Speedie? I have the old OMP 2531.80 and won’t part with it!

·

I would get a Speedy, just not that one.

Which variant for you? Hesalite?

CK 2998

Either this one:

But most likely this one:

Speed master, feels odd to buy another Seamaster if you already have one

Speedy

There are so many variants of Speedmaster, it would be criminal if one did not, at least, look beyond the Moonwatch.

I've also been looking at the Omega Speedmaster HB-SIA in all titanium.

No wrong decision

·

I would look at some other brand: Breitling, Zenith, IWC. I admit the whole Bond connection is not exactly a personal interest. I own an Omega DSOM iteration because I was curious about ceramic.

Nice

·

Considering you have the white SMP, & I don’t know the rest of your collection, I’d go Speedy. Regret letting mine go

·

It may be worth keeping in mind that servicing costs for the seamaster will be significantly lower than the speedmaster. Not that money is really an issue here I assume lol

·

I personally would not by two differnt versions of the same watch. I’d go for the speedmaster. Having Botha sea and speed master are very complimentary for each other then you can close the door on omega and look at other brands

·

Id get the Speedy as you've already got an SMP.

I love the titanium Seamaster and tried it on in Orlando last year. If you haven’t already you need to try it on. The bracelet is a bit strange and doesn’t confrom enough, there was a huge gap on the buckle side of my wrist. After doing some research I found that the standard bracelet supplied is a large and there is a smaller version that is said to be more comfortable. For me it was a deal breaker, I had lusted after it for weeks and I even found one for sale in Orlando (used) that was in mint condition for just under 3k less, so my advice is. Try it on and explore that bracelet fully and if getting from and AD do not pay anywhere close to full price, you need to get a healthy discount.

I’m listing after this one at the moment

The Seamaster will not be as versatile as the Speedmaster but its also not as bulletproof as the other one really depends what better suits your collection 🤔I like that particular Seamaster a lot but it is a unique piece that fits better as an addition to a collection than the speedy which kinda acts more as a building block for a collection if you get what I mean 🙌🏻 Either way both exceptional choices 😉

Greetings Simon!

Edit: Just saw you already got a beautiful SMP 🔥 Then i would rather tend towards the Speedy makes for more diversity in the collection 😁

·

I like the speedy more personally but I've not owned one

·

I’ve got both models.

The NTTD is different enough to the standard SMP that it’s not unreasonable to add to a collection.

You can read my thoughts on the NTTD here:

The Speedmaster is an icon.

I love both, for different reasons. Depending on which one I’m wearing that day, I’d give you a different answer as to which is best.

If you twisted my arm I’d have to say the Speedy.

·

Speedy 100%. I think the NTTD may be the worst model Omega has ever released.

·

There are many speedmaster models but as you are looking at the speedmaster pro you need to buy into the romance of a hand wound chrono and if the history of its involvement with space is of interest to you then the speedmaster is a no brainer. Its a superb watch in every way especially with the coaxial movement. Next is saphire or hesalite. I’ve had both and looking at the movement is a joy that keeps giving but I swoped for a hesalite as in my opinion it looks a little better and not only is it closer to the moonwatch it is still flight qualified. It always brings a smile to my face and is really a watch that needs no babying. I’ve not owened a no time to die but have had tried one on. I didn’t like the mesh strap and I’m not a fan of titanium watches so I’d recommend you try one out before buying especially if you don’t have a large wrist. The speedmaster will fit and feel right especially the hesalite

·

Seeing as you already own a White Seamaster (My Fav) I would be inclined to go for the Speedmaster. Although the Bond Seamaster is a great looking watch, Inhave never been able to get past the high price mark-up on it.

That's honestly what I was thinking - the NTTD is drastically different in both styling and wearing experience.

Speedmaster with hesalite. Classic, historical, elegant in its simplicity.
