I love my Nighthawk - a where I think it scores highly is that the slide rule doesn’t compromise the legibility. The bracelet is also great (for the price point) and eco-drive is way better than battery quartz. Don’t want to knock Seiko’s Flightmaster as I do like it but I chose to live with the Nighthawk.
Enjoy!
Great find - it looks in nice condition - not sure how much you have researched it but plenty info here:

Hope you get many years enjoyment from it.
Perhaps you can answer a Q on this particular model?
So there is lume on the middle of each of the hour and minute hands. But there is also a thin white line running to the tips (both ends) of the hour and minute hands. Are those thin white line luminescent or not?
Seen this point raised a few times but never actually closed off.
Thank you
Glycine Combat Sub automatic is a great choice - plenty of colour ways and should be cheaper than the Tissot.
Not sure what size Tissot you’re looking at but the one I had had 21mm lugs which was a pain for straps. So make sure you have your eyes open.
A great choice - my favourite beater and a real bargain!
I bought a screen protector (cheap off Amazon) and have stuck it on as this takes a pounding.
Between those two watches, i infinitely prefer the Seiko but …
Given that the value proposition has drifted too far away from the customer with contemporary Seikos, I now generally prefer micro brand offerings to most of Seiko’s 2024 catalogue.
Dollar for dollar I think micro brands are giving better value for money while Seiko are now often taking the p1$$ ! The same is less true of other manufacturers but certainly Seiko and Seiko in particular have been at this for the last few years.
