The Goldilocks conundrum…
So I have long admired the Speedmaster and have tried quite a few on over the years but I have never been completely happy with the sizing.
Now don’t get me wrong I have many watches that aren’t a perfect fit for me but they each cost a very small fraction of what I would have to pay for a new Seamaster. And at full RRP I would definitely want a perfect fit.
I spent some valuable time with an AD recently but unfortunately didn’t resolve my conundrum.
For get about the colour way and the specific models here I was focused on the sizes. The 44mm was too big and the 41mm and 38mm watches were both really close but just not quite.
Certainly I will keep my antenna alert as I’m sure the moment will come when either I find the perfect size or I find a pre-owned one at a price that allows me to compromise and accept less than perfection.
Driven to watches (researching and collecting affordably) by the boredom of COVID lockdowns. My - possibly attainable - grail watch would be a 6245 (Seiko or Grand Seiko) in nice condition … someday.
