Two visits to this AD โ two lucky finds! First time, I walked out with a Rolex of my dreams, even though I was not even considering this (see my post from 4 months ago).
The other day, I was in the neighborhood so I stopped in to see if the new Tudors had arrived. The BB54 was on display. After a bit of whispering, two new burgundy bezel BBs that had just arrived were brought out from the back, still in the boxes they were shipped in. They were the first allotment they had received, and the saleslady said they were spoken for, but I could try them on.
Based on everything I had seen online and considering my 6.5 wrist, I was convinced that the BB54 was for me. Rule #1: you have to try a watch on before buying! I donโt care what all the reviews say. For a dive watch, it looked too small. The BB (41mm) with the burgundy dial on the 5-link bracelet (they also had the 3-link) fit perfectly! I thought it would be too big.
Since I previously purchased a Rolex from this saleslady, she called the owner, who had already left for the day (they were about to close), and he gave her permission to sell it to me.
I wasnโt planning on purchasing a new watch for a few weeks โI have a milestone coming up. But this was serendipity x 2!
After I took photos, it was gift-wrapped and Iโll unwrap it in a few weeks.
What will my third visit bring? I better stay away for a year or so.

Yup. But it does make you feel special ๐ so it works!
Permission to sell it to youโฆdang, something seems wrong with this sales model. I guess you have to pay for the pleasure of their company ๐คฃ

Actually, it was the free drinks that cost so much!
congrats it looks fantastic on you ๐

Please sir may I have some more
The most surprising part of the story for me was that the BB54 didnโt impress me so much, and I love wearing a 36mm watch. It seemed small and boring. Also, that the 41mm BB didnโt feel too large. The jubilee bracelet let it hug my wrist. Also, the burgundy bezel is an eye-catcher!
Serendipity is the best for new acquisitions, especially when you have done your research ahead.

You canโt make this stuff up! LOL
Beautiful watch, ugly watch company.

Why?
Yeah I had the same experience. I was so sure that the bb54 would be perfect for my 6 1/2 wrist. But the burgundy wore better! Didn't pull the trigger but .. surprised as you were.
Interesting ๐คจ I would love to try on both too , Iโm interested in the BB54 & the 41mm Pearl white faced GMT & the Root-beer GMT also , so I appreciate your article thanks ๐
Absolutely beautiful timepiece.
