Thick bezel ? ๐Ÿค”

Hi guys, so I'm considering getting a new watch that can be worn daily and in dressy situations.

I love the Frederique constant classic option specially its case design and that thick bezel, but unfortunately at 42mm it's way too big for me.

Are there similar options at the same price point ($2000) with a white dial and specially similar bezel?

You can get a really nice and well conditioned, vintage Omega Constellation that is timeless elegance for that price.

How about that thick bezel though? I don't think vintage I can find vintage pieces with that! What do you think?

If the Breguet style is what you like, then you can also check the german brand Limes (Lee-Mess).

Limes but also Archimede belonging to the Ickler company, a traditional manufacturer of high quality watch parts located in the watch city of Pforzheim.

Except their movements almost everything else is manufactured inhouse. Their cases and bracelets are on a very high standard with a lot of more detail work than others.

The only downside is that they don't have that thik bazel type you want.

This is today's greatest find, it's true that they don't have that thick bezel, but otherwise they look pretty classy. Thank you for introducing the brand to me ๐Ÿ˜

My other user name choice was going to be More Face Less Case, for similar reasons. However, at 42mm, this will look smaller than if it had a smaller bezel.

Yes, I think so, I'll go try it on person before I decide and hopefully the L2L doesn't overhang too much

If you are looking for a very thin dress watch with the same elegance of that FC, and if you don't mind quartz, then FC did a gorgeous Slimline Small Seconds (ref. FC-245M4S6) with case size of 37mm and very slim at only 5mm...

Fabulous everyday dress watch for average wrist size (mine are 7.5 inch so it hits at the lower end of my range which is OK for a dress watch)

ยท

Have you looked at the DeVille Prestige line. The bezels are rather thick and some have roman numerals. But not the pattern you show, not that I know of at least.

On the secondary market they will likely go for around 2000$, in very reasonable condition. These were made in all kinds of sizes.

Ole Mathiesen, 40mm here is the quartz version. You can also get it with a mechanical movement. It will also have a second " hand" and a date window

ยท

Did you even try it? A 42mm looks like a very nice size for this watch and the watch looks great. Watches like this on a leather strap can be a bit bigger. Seems you are a bit influenced by the small watch trend. If you really want smaller, options enough, what about this Longines Master of 38,5mm?

Thanks for posting on Limes watches. Never heard of them. I just checked their website and they say they use ETA movements. I was under the impression that Swatch group was no longer selling ETA movements to other brands.

I actually don't know how they handled it.

Usually that depends on the deliverycontracts how much and how long they getting supplied. Limes do produce in very small ammounts, so I can imagine, that they have some movements on stock to keep producing for a while, or they might change to alternative clones within the swatch group as like valjoux or selita.

But that are just my ideas.

I hope to visit their facility in the next weeks in Pforzheim. Hopefully I can figure out more then.
