NWA: Mido Multifort Tv Big Date S01E01
Yesterday, I picked up my new Mido. 2 days ago I didn't even know that I'll buy another watch that soon, and here we are today... The watch wears really good on my 18cm wrist (7inch). It's also slimmer than expected. And of course, the dial is awesome.
Based on the pictures, I wasn't sure about the readability, but the polished hands makes it easy. Also the coating of the saphire is better than expected for a Mido. The movement is the Powermatic80 we all know from the Tissot PRX and other watches of the swatch group. I hadn't any issues with my PRX, so I don't expect any with my Mido too.
I haven't changed yet the straps: the two rubber straps are included: a yellow and tiffany-blue strap in the design of the known Tv BigDate series. The yellow is really nice and can make the Mido to my summer watch... 100m WR allows also some splashes.
The AD told me, they are sold out for this model. I got the last one. But they got just 3 pieces. So, not sure if there was/is really a run for this watch or Mido just delivered to less to this well known online+shop AD in Switzerland.

I’m old enough to remeber when that came on the telly, in the uk i seem to remember they called it the “test card” or something, it also had the image of a young girl in the middle.

I guess Mido is better at calculating the size of limited editions than e.g. Seiko. Enjoy the exclusivity and the variety of straps, but don't spend the whole summer in front of your TV!

Our first tv had 4 channels and no remote control. I'm familiar with this screen, because none of the stations broadcast 24h... 😅

Seen them on Gnomon. I was very tempted, just seems a massive premium over the normal one, even for a limited edition. 999 for Series 1 episode 1 sounds like it could be endless....

I don't know, if Mido got inspired by Seagull 🤷🏼♂️. But I enjoy the Mido with the powermatic80 movement 🥳
I remember waking up around 12 to these bars on the television.
Slight correction: the Powermatic 80 movement here is different from the C07.111 found in the PRX. “Powermatic 80” or “Eta C07.xxx” is more of family of movements.
Nice that you have yellow and turquoise straps. I like the bracelet, but it’s a shame that it has no microadjustment of any kind.

#mido limited edition releases are always eagerly anticipated, and no wonder the brand's so creative and this edition it’s really exclusive. I’m happy to own one of the 999.
