Welcome to the community! I miss Singapore, I used to have frequent layovers there and miss all the sights and food.

Thank you my friend and yes, I can totally relate! Singapore is such a melting pot of cultures and cuisines; it's hard to be away. What kinds of sights/food did you miss the most? Anything special that always sticks out in your memory? It would be nice to hear what those have been for you over the years!

I was anywhere between 11-13 years old when I would have layovers (my dad is in the US Army so we moved a lot), I miss really good Hainan chicken (LA does have good Hainan chicken tho) and Teh Tarik (can't find any good ones in LA but I make it great at home). One thing I don't miss is the humidity 😭

You know, I can tell you how much it means alot when people share their experiences like this. Those memories of your childhood sound truly wonderful; a part of life that will always stay with us no matter where we go in the world now. It's nice to hear that Los Angeles has some great Hainan chicken rice & you'll definitely figured out how to make Teh Tarik great at home keeping old memories alive in new ways is pretty awesome! Life's a trade off sometimes..

Not sure if you also felt this way too but we often find that despite its heat and humidity. In some ways, there was almost a strang level of comfort knowing where your roots were anchored (or maybe even established!). Thanks for sharing!
