NWA Got me a 'tourbillon '

Well with 2 friends on here busy buying new watches @Ichibunz (buying everything) and @Fieldwalker (a tourbillon no less) thought it was time i joined the party.

So I googled tourbillon as I originally thought it is something you get served in a fancy restaurant

You know the stuff something very small,usually very undercooked and very expensive. Turns out it's a bit of watch engineering hocus pocusery, invented by a bloke called Brigget

Not going to bore you with details, but its a thingy that surrounds a springy thing that negates gravity and it improves accuracy by up to 2 seconds a year.

YIKES!!! They're expensive, house money so no no no. So let's try fleabay, bit better but with delivery times of 6 weeks to 2 years another no no. The description is epic,some highlights: forsinning creative triangle design, sure to catch eye and sophistication (it does), special culture given to special you (its special alright) and my favourite... every stroke is meticulous pecking. And the 2 reveiws Barbara from Hull- doesn't tell time, brocken (always nit picking that Barbara) and Mike from Reading- an exquisite time piece that makes me feel manly again after the wife left me. Well I'm always up for some manly exquisitness, so cheers Mike. Just look at it

You can certainly see the design influences of pecking. The detail like the walls of a temple

The playful nature of the 57.5 click bezel 58 forward and half back, so no alignment issues here (take note Seiko) and one the most satisfying bezel actions ever, you feel every crunch and the spring makes a satisfying ZA BONG over every notch.

The bracelet is a masterpiece,single link mollusc style with a butterfly clasp. And it's got a special design that you have to depress the buttons to fasten it, so can't accidentally put it on your wrist and wear it

None of that glidelock rubbish, just carry this nifty little tool for on the fly adjustments

You can amaze your friends with your mechanical expertise, and talking of expertise... Let's get into dial and movement

The pop of gold against the steel,Ruby at centre stage, the sun n moon complication to tell you when it's safe to leave the house whilst wearing it, the lumed hands including a tiny second hand

The filigreesque finishing on the case and to top it off see through caseback to match the front made of real glass.

OK lets get technical, the engine,the tourbillon. Now after a few emails back n forth I got hold of the chef engineer of Forskinning a Mr Hwang King and he explained this is a very special tourbillon. What's special about it, well it's fixed in a single position

He went on to explain that the Swiss version is deeply flawed as its too fragile for a daily wear and with forskinning's high tech manufacturing this watch can easily run to within 19.8 minutes per day. So hats off to Mr Hwang King of the Forskinning watch company for giving a tired old design a thoroughly modern makeover.

So there you have it, a watch to define an age, a legacy piece that your descendants will treasure, a masterclass of design and engineering that blows anything Swiss out of the water.

Unfortunately it's not unanimous praise, somebody's not happy and has threatened to cover himself in brine shrimp paste and jump in the fish tank if I wear the watch outside. Well young man jealousy will get you nowhere, only a person of exquisite manliness, of triangle pecking design racing, a special breed can wear this piece.

So thankyou the Forskinning watch company, chef engineer Mr Hwang King, and my 2 fellow crunchers for this far Eastern haute horological genre busting masterpiece. Oh and the price....Well sit down folks- £36 delivered!!! In fact this watch is better than a case full of contraceptives and would make a great daily wear for..let's say for a month or so.
