Hi, my name is Nick, I'm excited to join this community!

As some background on myself. I've been a watch collector since 2010. I always liked and owned watches growing up, but never really knew much about them. When my wife and I started talking about getting married, she said that she wanted to buy me a watch for our wedding. Being the engineer that I am, I had to learn about what made a watch good, so that I would be sure to pick the right one (it ended up being an Omega Planet Ocean Chronograph!). This inadvertently sent me down this rabbit hole of obsession that we call the watch hobby.

I also run a website called StrapHabit.com which was started in 2019. My wife came up with the name after she saw how much I loved to frequently swap out my watch straps. We offer a lot of fun colors and materials and focus on straps that can be quickly swapped out. The prices are affordable so that you can easily buy a few to change up your look. The really fun and unexpected side effect of running the site has been to meet and interact with so many cool people in the watch community. My favorite is when people tell me a StrapHabit strap has made them start wearing an old watch again!

I've bought and sold many watches since I started and have built up a collection that I really enjoy. I also got into blogging about two years ago and write for a few different blog sites including ABTW and WatchCharts. I also review all of my personal watches on the StrapHabit blog.

I try to have a variety of watches that will each give me a different and unique wearing experience, and that I can wear in different situations. When I buy new pieces, I'm generally looking to try something that I haven't had before, be it a unique movement, construction method, brand, etc. My current collection is below (plus I've just picked up the blue metal Casioak).
