I think there are people for everything I for example would buy a Pro-Hunter Explorer over the Rolex since it makes it different and also less recognizable! Same goes for Omega and the speedmaster I would rather go for the Dark Side of the Moon with meteorite than the normal one. With the omega you could say its not a MOD but it actually is but comes from the factory.
Let’s take the example to cars 20 something years ago when AMG wasnt owned by Mercedes they were creating Masterpieces by modding the cars, now they are part of Mercedes.

In my case I prefer that there is no brand recognition, I prefer to fly under the radar. I only have a really flashy watch and it’s because I inherited it from my dad a #rolex Day-Date. At this time in my life I would never by that watch, maybe in 10 to 20 years that changes, but solid yellow gold watch is not for me and Rolex for that matter.
I have a submariner on order and I’m always thinking that I should cancel the order, Ive wanted to have one for the past year but now that I have ordered one I’m having second thoughts. I’ll have to wait until I see it on my wrist at the AD to decide.
Basically what I’m trying to say is that I hope that GS doesn’t get recognized by everyone, since I prefer to wear good watches that nobody recognize!
