Tough decision. I was nearly ready to pull the trigger on a BB Pro myself but waited to see what info came out of Watches and Wonders this year. Personally I’m going to wait and see if they bring that new movement to the BB Pro and slim down the case. Otherwise you may consider what others have said regarding the Christopher Ward or possibly consider the newer Seiko alpinist GMT. Good luck with your decision.
I'm patiently waiting for this release. I was hoping they would get a thinner case and it looks very possible now. Not sure if I'd go polar dial or black dial though if I had the option.
commented onISO a good field watch - Hamilton Khaki Field vs Seiko Alpinist?·
I have the white dial alpinist and I have a khaki king. I love both for different reasons. I don't like that the water resistance level on my khaki king. I do like how thin it is but the lugs are a little longer so wrist size might be a factor to consider. I love everything about the Alpinist but the high polish. It looks more dressy than I'd like, but I love this watch. That said I think it is worth considering the Alpinist GMT and who cares if you have more than one Seiko. I have several. But to each their own. Watches that I feel may be relevant would be a Nivada Grenchen super antarctic there are a few variants of the dial whether you want arabics or not or and this is a little more expensive but hear me out...the Longines Zulu Timer GMT. I feel like that has a field watch look to it but that's my subjective view and that watch is a GMT and I believe it is chronometer spec but you'll have to double check that. The negative on that watch for me is the lug width. I don't understand why they went 19mm. For that reason I won't consider it. Oh another alternative check out Boldr watches they have some cool looking field watches. I hope I helped lol
