Strap recommendations

Hi fellow enthusiasts! My dad found his old Omeg  watch earlier this month. The dial is clean and very crisp. I'm looking to swap the original strap and try it watch on for the next few months.. Please send my way your  recommendations

Also if you know the model of this, please let me know down below. I can't seem to find online any with this cyclop-like date window.

You have a blank canvas there. Any color of your choise will do perfectly.

Not much help on the ref however it is very handsome and a stellar example.

I just wanna say congrats on that watch - it's in incredible shape for one of its vintage!

The reference number is on the inside of the caseback. However, by the looks of it, this is probably a unishell case, which means that there's no way of checking the reference without taking off the bezel, disconnecting the split stem and taking out the movement. If the watch hasn't been used in years, you'll need to have it serviced anyway. Especially that it most likely has a 5XX-series movement, they're prone to develop issues with the rotor if not regularly serviced.

This one looks mid to late 1960s.

The crystal is most likely original, Omega has used crystals with date magnification from 1950s on. Besides, fitting a generic replacement armoured hesalite into a unishell case is a menace. Anyway, check the centre of it, should have a tiny Omega logo there.

Oh, and don't lose the original bracelet. As for strap recommendations... Epsom, lizard/lizard grain, maybe?

Maybe a pair of straps from Accurate Form… I have them on my Cyma and they're great. There's a lot of materials to choose from as well.

Looking into. Thanks all for the rec :)

Safest choice for this is a black lizard-embossed leather strap, in my opinion. However, feel free to be adventurous with the color choices! It would depend on your lifestyle, outfits, usual belt/shoe color.

·

A white Alpine leather racing strap, just to be different, would look nice.

·

I’d recommend a black leather band, because that is what I have on my omega, pictured here;

but mine is a bit different from yours, I plan on getting a racing/sports strap for mine, it is pretty much based on your personal preference.

You are a lucky one! In my opinion such a lovely piece with family history deserves some fine leather like ostrich or lizard just like MrBloke suggested above (if thats ethically correct for you of course).

Brown leather alligator.

FYI.
