Trends come and go but Quiet Luxury seems to be making a comeback in 2023. Later on maybe Loud Luxury will be back in style. 😁

I don't think the Datejust would look right on a nylon strap. 😅 I have a feeling you'll like the Explorer more than the Datejust, mainly because it sounds like it'll be your GADA watch (Go Anywhere Do Anything).

I go for a well-established local dealer for more expensive pieces because of the after-sales service. For cheaper pieces, I get from ebay, making sure the bargain price is worth the risk because it would be difficult to ship things back abroad.

I generally avoid homages (or mods) of well-known expensive watches just to avoid embarassment in the situation where the homage is mistaken for the original and I have to sheepishly say that it's an homage. I'd go for homages of less hyped pieces or vintage reimaginings like old military style watches. I also have a weakness for a good Cartier Tank homage (but i will lean more towards something that has a slight variation). 😆
