We went out for breakfast this morning and my wife really loved the look of the Tudor Prince Oysterdate on me ๐๐ . She knows I just bought it and what I payed. Still, so far, it's her favorite watch ๐๐๐ฏ!
Let's get into it guy's and girls,
Does your wife, husband, boyfriend, girlfriend approve of your watch addiction ๐คฃ?
This account is verified. WatchCrunch has confirmed that this account is the authentic presence for this person or brand.
My wife is very into both painting and gardening where you can spend a lot of money, and maybe because of this she bought me my most expensive watch (no Tudor Prince Oysterdate but much more than my other pieces), and lately she asked me if I had an idea of what I was going for next, and I told her I was thinking about the Orient Kamasu and how much it costs and she told me I can look at more expensive ones๐คฉ. Her Dad has a very nice luxury collection, which probably help. Still bring on the Tudor BB๐
Bob making sure that I DONT get another watch.
She does not approve. Not one bit. And I make sure I consult with her on every purchase.
ย
Only on the days that don't end in y
โApproveโ is such a strong word. ๐คฃ I canโt say my significant other gets my obsession but sheโs come to appreciate a fine watch as well. It helps when you get them one they may desire. ๐
Yes! My wife (@WrapItUp) is into watches herself.
Since watches are the cheapest of my hobbies, my wife doesn't mind much. Watches are also small, and don't clutter the garage or the house, or require constant maintenance. In that sense she doesn't mind in the slightest.
Absolutely not and I get a stern look when I spend over 100โฌ on one, with added sighs and groans for every 50โฌ tier above that.ย
As long as Iโm not being irresponsible thereโs no problem. But my wife isnโt really into any of my hobbies.
I just tell her it cost ยฃ100 (even the Rolex) and know a good bargain when I see one.ย
Once you have been married a while your going to figure out that its easier to ask forgiveness than permission. Usually at 2 kids and a mortgage in.
Let's just say I have quarterly budget. Whether it gets approved or not by the CEO is another story.ย
๐ good question ๐ when I say im looking at getting another I am met with this face ๐
She totally approves, and encourages me to go nuts. ย Because,ย
Totally deflates my argument, so she's happy.
Don't have that problem being happily single but sometimes wish I had someone to rein me in on my watch buying ๐คฃ๐
If you have no significant other, you don't need approval from them.
Short and sweet ๐.

Guess you can get homage she wonโt be piss .
When framed as it being a hobby, she totally got it. She approves; with my purchases so far at least.
We've tried on many watches together, and her tastes have developed alongside mine.
She really enjoys her Oris, that I got her for Xmas:
In a store, last week, I was slightly surprised to hear her encourage me to buy a Nomos she spotted in the window; I would have, had it been the model with the sapphire caseback.
Guess you can get homage she wonโt be piss .
Exactly what I do, besides with my current budget even 100โฌ would mean less food on the table haha
she does, but only because i never tell her costs. ย i know that's terrible, but it's true. ย one time she made a comment that my daytona was a $1000 watch. ย i didn't correct her, i just let it be. ย i'm not proud of this...

It gets worse, wait until you have to start hiding watches.ย
Yes, she approves because I told her how cheap they are.
Now I live in mortal dread of her selling them for what I told her they were worth ๐ฎ
I love the acronym WAF (Wife Appreciation Factor). It's here to stay, super ๐ฏ๐๐โ!
I was thinking this over after I made this comment, and realized that is should be Wife Acceptance Factor (not Wife Appreciation Factor).
I first saw it on stereo and home theater forums years ago, in the context of buying small satellites instead of large black speakers that dominate living spaces, and the term just stuck in my brain.
Acceptance seems to make more sense than Appreciation.... ๐ย
My partner? Yeah she does whatever.
More importantly, your wife is a honey. ย Good work!
I discovered that my wifeโs idea of an expensive watch is anything over ยฃ30.ย
ย
Itโs just as well I never disclose. ๐
My lovely bride saw the new black and gold (gold-colored, not gold) Casio Duro I just bought (I'm a very modest collector, but I really love reading posts here, and seeing what you are all up to) and she said "Ooh, I really like your new watch, very manly!".
In contrast, she saw my new Casio G-Shock DW-5600E-1V and said "that looks like a little boy's watch!"
So I definitely got the WAF (Wife Appreciation Factor) on a diver's watch, but not on a rugged black resin watch.
My next goal might be a dress watch, just to see what she thinks....๐ ย
There should be a published journal on WAF! It deserves more research on it๐๐ช๐ฝ
On a side note, @SimplyVintageWatches that's a cracking piece! The current Glamour and Style lines do no justice for the Tudor Princes๐คง

Thank you my Bro ๐ค๐ค๐!
Yes I'm a lucky man and my wife loves me collecting watches and has a keen eye with art and definitely has a good taste in things and usually pushes me to pull the trigger on a new purchase. ย She loves to wear them too big or small initially hated nato straps now won't wear anything else.ย
As long as Iโm reasonable ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ, and not buying every watch I want and lust for..
