One-watch guy (quartz Swiss Army) until just recently, when I realized I was missing out on some great pieces of mechanical art. Interested in the old US companies and those reviving the look mid-20th Century look - Hamilton, Bulova. Texas attorney.
Wore one quartz Wenger for years, it would get worn out or break, I'd get another one. Really liked the last Wenger chrono and tried to get it fixed when it broke. While waiting, started researching different watches and realized I was missing out (thanks Teddy and Ben). An Orient Bambino and Bulova Precisionist later and now I'm hooked . . .
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Timex...? Don't really remember. Something cheap with a bezel, though. I do remember my Casio calculator watch in junior high.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Get what you like, not what everyone else does, and what you can afford. Admire, don't envy, other's watches.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Hamilton, Bulova, Glycine.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Omega Seamaster, Speedmaster - either or, even better, both. Why? Nothing cooler than James Bond and astronauts, of course. And, just recently, I'm really growing to appreciate the simple elegance of the Rolex Explorer 1. But not in any hurry or real need to have anything too expensive as my wrist decoration.
