Watch free at work?

I love wearing my watches, but have a job (clinical role in a hospital) where I am not allowed to wear anything on wrist for hygiene reasons.

Interested if anyone else has a job that limits what they wear?

Back when I worked in Law Enforcement we weren't allowed to wear a watch that cost more than $100. For most of us that meant wearing a GShock or something with good lume or backlight.

Many of us don’t or can’t wear a watch for safety reasons. Oh well, keeps my watches nice.

Time to move to a different part of the hospital…

Can’t wear this to my job. Haven’t gotten a clear reason why.

It’s not commonplace for mechanics to wear watches, but I do anyway. If I have a bigger, heavy job I will take it off tho, it can get in the way or be dangerous

Maybe a nurse's watch fob to wear on your chest pocket?

It might be a little clunky for an Omega Ploprof.. but it could be a good excuse for a nice small quartz piece...

Yeah i work in a big bakery and we are also not allowed any piece of Jewelry

I have a desk job and sometimes don't wear a watch because typing on a keyboard all day scratches the bracelet or buckle.

As an OR nurse I feel your pain. Always feels wrong when I have to take off my watch to scrub in. Thankfully I don’t scrub in every day

When working around certain types of ordnance or explosives, have to ditch the watch for safety reasons.

Also around certain aircraft. Crew chiefs don't like it when you leave gouges/scrapes/whatever on the skin of a B2 😂🤪.

Another reason why I love a single pass, easy to jury rig onto a belt or around something.

Yep working in the food industry you cant wear watches for the same hygiene reason. Easier to get away with wearing one as a manager though.

I would REALLY be impressed if you could put that in stopwatch mode... 😉

I'd be really impressed that he could read it at all... considering that a watch on the left wrist, in that position, would be upside down when viewed by the onlooker. This tattoo, however, will be upside down if the person tries to "check the time." 🤣

Yessir, food processing industry. Same requirements for GMPs

That is the funniest thing I have seen in a while. LOL

Yes, I'm a transport truck mechanic. It's a very dirty trade

Sometimes to avoid injuries. But there is nobody telling me not to wear watches and jewelry but I'm the one who tells the others to put away their things 🤷🏻‍♂️.

·

I had the same problem a few years back.

Then I became a psychiatrist 😏

Time to find a new career to fit your watch lifestyle. 🙂 Just kidding of course.
